View Full Version : Stuff that people say is in the bible but isnt
God hates fags- If you're a creationist, why'd he put them here?
Embreos=humans-they didnt know bout embreos
Predistination- not there
Dont forget the Bible was written be normal people
actually theres a verse somewhere in leviticus that says to kill gay people, and people who screw during their period all sorts of other crazy crap too but the thing is its only mentioned in leviticus as far as i know
what i like to do to christians on anti-gay rants is say,
"so your in favor of beating your wife if shes dissobediant? the bible condones that, or how about killing someone for having sex during theyre period?"
the usual response is.
"those were laws given to the jews and after jesus came they stopped applying because theyre only mentioned in the jewish books of law, just like sacrifices and eating kosher food."
and then i say
"you know what else is only mentioned in the jewish books of law? homosexuality."
which makes them look really dumb.
but to be honest im not sure though. homosexuality might be mentioned somewhere else in the bible, but i have yet to find it.

Why are you assuming that gays have no choice in their "gayness"? Or, atleast, continuing in their "gayness"?
Could most have either learned or had expiriences that contributed to their "gayness"?
i'm not saying that God does not say, in His word, that it is an abomination... but keep in mind,
God hates sin... and we all sin.
But, He provided a "loop-hole" around His Law.

Not sure where you are going with this one, but i would assume that you are meaning, "Thou shalt not kill" and the application to abortion.
Here is my take on this:
An human embryo is alive and has the genetic information that will not cause it to be anything other than a human.
Predistination- not there[b]
Yes, the concept and implications are ... and in many places.
Also, in many places, is the concept and implications of "free-will".
Cool thing is, many of both types of verses are in very close proximity.

sorry for the goof up... i must have missed or added a bolding tag somewhere..
I am not going to edit... because i very seldom edit my posts
and i NEVER delete my posts.
.... mistake is in, so it stays in
What bugs me more is the Christians that don't talk about or follow what the Bible does say.
Alot of them cop out not following the OT laws because they claim that once Jesus came, they no longer have to, but there are still plenty of things in the NT that they almost never follow.
The NT says that a woman must not speak and must have her head covered when in church. I don't understnd why ministers, preachers, priests, etc, allow women in their church without hats and allow them to disgrace their church like that.
The NT also says that a true believer can handle snakes and ingest any harmful thing and they won't be harmed. Now I've seen those weirdos that dance around with snakes, but I've never seen any of them try to drink a bottle of Draino.

Thanks for bothering to post such rational reasons for keeping your other post a mess.

You're welcome...
There was a point to this...
somewhere in that topic where 40 writers were going to prove that they could make a non-contradictory text, they said that they would edit it. I'm not claiming here, that the Bible was OR was not edited.
I am just claiming that i seldom edit my posts... if i make a mistake, i tend to leave it in.
I have edited some, but when i have, i have always (if i remember) posted why the edit, and what was changed... that was for sake of honesty, and because i bugs the crap outta me, when i see someone responding to a (now)non-existant post or statement, because the original poster didnt have the balls or honesty to either leave in the mistake and deal with it, or atleast explain why the edit/deletion.
Hope that was rational enough for you.
If you feel i'm lying, go back through my posts and look at the percentage.

Christian explanation:
We all are tempted in some way or another to do sinful things. Just because we have sinful desires doesn't mean we should act upon them.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
And people wonder why I think the bible is reprehensible...

^The gay taboo thing made a certain amount of sense in the context of a small tribal society which needed to increase its numbers.
But any competant physician or psychologist knows that sexual orientation is not a matter of choice--it is hardwired. How we ACT on that orientation, however, IS a matter of choice.
