So, My entire life, I've never been able to believe god... when I was younger I even went to local pastors/priests or whatever, in tears half the time because I just couldn't convince myself I wasn't in control of my own life/destiny. To this day, I still don't/can't believe in god... yet..
I'm an incredibly moral person. I don't do drugs, get in fights, cheat on people (EVER), drink often, par-take in major vices.
Hell, I'm a better person than most of the christians I know.
Well, a while back I was reading the encyclopedia, and I came across Taoism, didn't think much of it, read up on it again today, and yeah, it matches the way I think almost perfectly.
The type of person I am/want to be.
Any Taoists here? Who could.. I dunno.. give me a first hand run down? Or advice in general?
And it's not just because Atheism is such a dirty word now-a-days. I really like what I read about it.

I don't subscribe to labels, however Taoist teachings are fascinating. I reccomend Bruce Lee, the martial arts master, his thoughts on Tao blended with the martial art is an excellent insight into it's practical nature.

Taoism is great. They say to meditate and become at peace with yourself and nature... I can't see a better way of living
'The Tao of Pooh' (http://winnie-the-pooh.ru/online/lib/tao.html) is a good intro to the main facets of Taoism.

The Bible isn't worth reading.
It's a book of Jewish fairy tales that aren't even all that interesting.
Even though I personally think Taoism is bullshit, I used to believe in it, and the Tao te Ching is a good book... if you're open to that belief system. If you're not open to it, it's shit, like all the other religious texts out there.

Just becuase the beliefs are flawed and it is a cult that sucks in most of the population doesn't mean it isn't worth reading. I personally think reading the belifes of the most followed relgion is worth a read, you don't have to believe everything you believe
