hi guys, im agnostic, i've always been skeptikal to many things in life. I want to know WHAT DO YOU LIVE FOR. i know many of you are agnostic/atheist as i am. why do you think life is worth living? why do you decide to keep on living if you have the power to end up your life and there will be no afterlife in which you might be judged or punished.
i know this sounds pretty suicidal, but i mean what do you think makes existing better that not existing?
i decide to continue living because life offers positive emotions i wouldn't experience if my existence ended. thats my only reason.

I suppose i live because life is fun and isnt worth losing. i kind of like to make people happy so when other people are happy im happy. if i kill myself, the people that i love will feel terrible and sad, therefore i dont commit suicide.
Hmmmm when i look at this paragraph it looks like it was written by a 1st grader about why people shouldnt kill themselves.

At the mundane level, I live to support those who depend on me--my wife, her son, and a bunch of dogs and cats, all of whom I love dearly.
At a higher level, I live to express and declare Who and What I am, to recreate myself on a daily--even a minute to minute--basis to become more loving, more accepting, and more compassionate.
In general, I just enjoy life, appreciate the really neat planet I have to live on, get a huge charge out of seeing the play of light over the mountains around dusk.
On a more material level, I also enjoy gloating over my coin collection, wheeling and dealing for firearms when I work gun shows, and consuming mass quantities of buttered popcorn whilst watching cheesy horror movies.
Life is good. Or rather, life is just exactly as good as I choose to make it.

I can be happy.
Thats enough for me.

its funny but you all listed reasons that are just as intangeble as the concept of GOD:
Love
Enjoyment
Emotions
Fun
Happiness
These concepts only exist in your mind. They are as real to you as the ground beneath you, but I cannot disprove that they are real.
love and emotions are GOD.

I don't really know... It kinda makes me sad. I just go day by day. I've just yet to figure it out, I suppose.
well my thoughts are: why stop something prematurely? live life to its fullest, who cares what happens in the end, and i know that all emotions are just electrical signals in the brain etc, but i dont care, i take them as they are...
thats about as well as i can explain it
The tv and internet entertain me far too much to let go just yet.

What are you, a robot? Love and emotions are not GOD, they are HUMAN. Everything on that list is human. You strike me as someone who is against emotion. Otherwise your post is next to useless.
As for my reason for living: I live because I am afraid of death and of the end. I do not know why I fear death, but I don't really care why. Perhaps I am simply acting on my most basic instinct, the will to live, but I figure I have this instinct for a reason.

Not really sure I belive I will die someday and if it today or 100 years from now I could care less. I dont see dieing as a bad thing but im not suicidal so I guess I enjoy somthing about life
I live for the moment. Moments can happen quickly or they can be something that you have to work up to get. But in the end were all going to end up dirt so in all reality life shouldnt be taken too serriously.

"What do you live for?"

That's a noble goal - but you're trying to share knowledge, which you have none of, with people who have no knowledge.
Information and faith can be shared...knowledge cannot because no man has knowledge of anything.

Disclaimer: I am a naive, idealistic, grandiose, dramatic little kid. So sue me.
I want to do great things in the world. I want to discover something great in the fields of biology or physics and benefit all the Earth (not just Humans, the whole Earth). I want to take up a shining sword and strike out against evil. I want to serve the Gods as Their champion. I live for valor.

I dunno lol, but if you think exsistance is meaningless, does non-existance have much more meaning to it?
