it seems like everyone i talk to doesnt believe in hell, even when these same people believe the bible and whatnot.

i deffinetly dont believe in a hell. i believe in an afterlife and all that jazz, but the idea of hell just doesnt make sense to me. it seems very much like something that would come out of the imagenation of humans.

do any of you actually believe in hell?

Yes i believe in a hell.

Hell is absence of hope&god.

since everyone has sined and fell short of the glory of the perfect god everyone has earned death and deserves to go to hell.

so either you can go to hell or you can find a substiute who was perfect.

That substitute is Jesus Christ!

But yes the perverted version of hell that most poeple visualize when the think of the subject is bullshit.

you arnt totured with hot prods and eaten by demons and ahit the misery is in having absolutly zero hope of ever being with god. When you know he exists since by this time you have met him face to face.

So god is like a gigantic pile of crack to a crack addict (us being the hardcore crack addict), who "just quit"? then upon seeing the pile and practically shitting his brains out because hes never seen a pile so big, the addict is taken away and told he will never get that pile of crack or any crack for that matter ever. and then for the rest of eternity he will be tortured because he will see that pile just sitting in front of him but he will know that that he will never be able to have it. but the bad thing is, is that the addict will get over his addiction. i just woke up and thought id share that with everyone.

Yes. Hell is the mindset and attitude that follows pride. The 'eternal flame' the Bible speaks of is soon upon the world: Nuclear war will turn this planet into a world of plasmatic fire - with it, all will die, all will be cleaned - Pride, the tree of tainted fruit, will be burned away.

Upon death, pride is shed. We are all humbled by the grave before going to the Father for judgement, and as such, we will all be shown mercy and grace.

I've always wondered this... why would a nuclear war result in winter? all i can think of is that it may throw lots of particles up into the air, but those would diffuse in a few months at most, doesnt seem like anything to worry about to me. also is it true that nuclear explosions give off ozone?

Nuclear winter is what you're thinking of; it's the radioactive fallout 'snowing' down. And those few months it takes for the skies to clear will result in the complete death of all life that survives the initial explosions. All plants will die from lack of light; all herbivores will die following; all omnivores will die; all carnivores will die. Those who feed on flesh will be the last to go. Make no mistake though: None will survive.

even a series of nukes couldnt kick up enough dust to completely block off the sun world wide, it would probly be pitch black over the major cities that were bombed, and dim probly wihtin 100 miles of those cities, eveywhere else it would probably just be really dusty, but not block out the sun completely all across earth. plenty of coniferous trees that can do without light for months (farther up north its dark out for months at a time, the trees live through it) i mean sure the tropical plants would probably all die, alot of people and animals would too but it wouldnt be the utter end of the earth. also we as a race have enough cumulative stored food, espescially grain and soy, to last well over a month or two, even in total darkness.

and that food can be used to feed animals for meat, cows eat wheat. so yeah itd be nasty, probly a few tens of millions of people would die, but it wouldnt be the apocalyptic starvefest bye bye humanity that you described, besides there will never be a nuclear war, unless all the world leaders suddenly become dumbasses far beyond the likes of bush thanks to a little policy called Mutual Assured Destruction.

You misunderstand; the world is going to war. The first horseman, conquest under the guise of peace, is here. Next is war; first tactical, then nuclear. The nuclear war is going to wipe out much of the stores of food and much of the world population; and the darkness that results from this will be too thick for even a single ray of light to reach the ground - all vegetation will die. Famine will result from radioactive contamination of food stores that remain. Plague will result as radiation causes extreme mutations in viruses and bacteria that spread death on a scale as great as the nuclear war itself.

Ideologies are becoming more and more focused; there is less room for free thought as people go into more concentrated niches.

Before the war goes nuclear, there are going to be 6 types of thought - Egoist, Humanist, Theist, Atheist, Animalist, Superiorist. While they are not mutually exclusive as of yet, as social evolution continues, they will further be ostracized from eachother and they will assimilate any related thought into them - it's a monopolization of memes through corporations, religions, governments, and private organizations. Corporations are currently promoting egoism and animalism; Religions are promoting theism and superiorism; some governments are promoting theism, some atheism, but they all are promoting superiorism; and private organizations are promoting all of them to varying degrees.

This situation is going to get so out of control that the major areas of thought are going to bring civil war to every last nation on Earth - rising above these 6 thoughts will be one. The animalists, having their puppet controllers removed from power by war, will run rampant. Having instincts in such a state of disarray, they will be the first to go nuclear against the others, and they will not hold back. This is the end of the world, and you know it.

Hell as a specific place--nah. I tend to go along with what Pope John Paulk II said, that hell is a state of mind one consciously chooses when one cuts oneself off from God.

Actually, you can't really do this, being that the kingdom of God is within you--but you CAN choose to experience life without a God, which amounts to the same thing.

What makes it so bad living without God? If some of us live our entire lives without him, what would be the loss?
