View Full Version : Jesus was black

Jesus was a hebrew. And the hebrews of biblical times were dark-skinned people from Africa, descended from the slaves Pharaoh took to labor in egypt.
Everytime I explain this to someone, they become infuriated and cannot gove a satisfactory answer other than " How do YOU know? Have you seen him?!?!?!?!" and so on.
If someone more learned than myself can help refine or disprove this, than go for it. (With reasonable answers, please).
Dark skinned, but not black.

Jesus wasn't black he was from Palestine and people from Palestine are Asian (semitic, not oriental), not black.

Not being a Christian, I don't know if what I am saying is valid, but does it really matter if Jesus was black, white, fucking purple. They should concern themselves with his teachings, not his color.

Yeah, but a lot of Christians I know are arrogant, racist, hypocritical pricks.

Yea it really shouldnt matter, it's just an interesting point to bring up to racist christians. They think they love Jesus, but hate brown people, so therefore they should hate Jesus too, and their brain gets stuck in a loop till they bleed from their eyeballs.
It happened once. True story.

Ok, but the jews we know of now
are pretty white, basically european.
Where did they come from?
How do they relate to the historic tribes?
I'm legitimately curious.
Also, who cares what jesus looks like?
His cock is huge!

With just a thin linen robe, it makes one wonder whether Jesus ever got a hard-on.
this topic has been done to death.
but you know what i recently found out?
there is no record anywhere of the egyptians keeping the jews as slaves. none, no fossil remains, no archeological finds, nothing. that is, except for the bible.
you would think that tens of thousands of people wandering the desert for forty years would leave something behind, but evidently not.
kind of strange methinks.

Well.... it takes fossils millions of years to form so that kinda crosses that one off the list.
I know what you're getting at though.

Anybody know this one?
fuck you all, jesus was asian. the fact that he was also dark skinned is irrelevant, he came from the continent of asia from a group that had been in asia long enough to be considered a native group.
in the same way, african americans are americans.

You are half right what u said up there was true but he wasnt black he was jewish wich meaans he was olive toned.

Really. Because, I can explain how he was black; can you explain how he had olive skin?

This is truly a pointless arguement. If you're a christian, it shouldnt matter what color Jesus was.
Not being a Christian, I care even less.

Actually it does matter, it matters more than you know, because if people cannot break away from the white stigma attached to a savior, than how can they ever accept change to their religion? Or for that matter, the issue of respecting a colored man?

The Hebrews did not come from Africa. They came from the Middle East. Hebrews today are not black; and besides, not everyone in Africa is black (see the Egyptians themselves).
I'd like you to provide evidence for your assertion that Hebrews were ever black. See Martini's Popular Mechanics link for more evidence against your position.

The belief in a black Jesus is another lie of the black criminals who exploit racism to steal from society.

It really shouldn't matter but the attitudes of many Christians towards Jesus's race is quite worrying.
Jesus would not have been a white man with a beard. He is not Willem Dafoe. He is not Max Von Sydow. In major film or tv interpretations of Jesus no actor of asian or even Jewish descent has ever played Jesus.
the art and sculptures of previous generations has seeped into our culture and Jesus has become very white and there are now Christians who refuse to accept him as being any other race. suggestions of Jesus being black or asian are dismissed as blasphemous in many circles. Just looks at the outrage at black Jesus in that Madonna video.
Perhaps if people actually interpreted Jesus's appearance in a more plausible mannor it would make him more credible in today's society. it's a shame that many white people can't see past the idea of their messiah being white.

I must admit I have never thought about it like tis before. This is a very interesting thought. I am part of a Multicultural organization and it's something that would be interesting to do a workshop on.
Do you have any other sources that talks about such things?

There are groups of Jews that lived in Africa, in countries like Ethiopia and Morocco, and they are certainly darker skinned (black basically) than their semitic counterparts, but there seems to be no evidence that Jesus came from Africa.
As for how dominent these groups were in Africa at the time, that's debatable, but they probably traveled to Israel and stuff, so Jesus was probably aware of darker skinned people.

Its just that the art depicts him as being pale and having straight, brown hair.
For example, the Buddha is always shown as an oriental, where he was actually indian

That popular mechanics link was informative, that seems to be a realistic, plausable representation of Jesus.
But the reason I tell certain people he's black is to gauge their reactions, for example, one preppy girl at my school was insisting he was white and was getting her friends to agree. And I said even if he wasn't black he lived in the DESERT.
To which he then replied he MAY have had a small "tan"
The ignorance of people interferes with the teachings they should follow.
