God often said to be unknowable, but to even say that He is unknowable is too say you know something of Him.

Besides that, how is saying "I believe in something that I have no idea about" different than saying "I believe in nothing"?

Discuss or Flame or Support, you're call.

when people say that its not supposed to be an all or nothing philosophical sort of thing, its just saying God is more complex than we can understand

Because of the associated epistemological baggage, afterlife, spirit, rejection of any way to test statements against facts etc.

Although if a person believes in an ineffable being, that person cannot ascribe attributes towards he/she/it/

If you can't understand this, then you're in trouble.

There is no conclusive evidence of life after death. Conversely

there is no evidence of any sort against it. Soon enough you will

know. So why worry?

People are taking the idea of god, or other worlds of experience, like they're just another subject in a human text book.

The thing is, they exist, and in fact originate in an entirely larger, or [i]different[i] universe, if they were right here, then we'd all know.

That would only be logical if you didn't care about your future, OR if there was no logical way to find out about it.

But we are humans. We're not dumb machines, we have connections to this place, and ways to understand what it's like there, by observing things here.

There are a shitload of religions with descriptions of all kinds of gods. Pick one, draw a picture, and jerk off on it. You'll feel better, trust me.

^ If you require religion to find what's inside of you, then you're incorrect.

Finding what's inside of you is through a relationship with yourself, and you true nature, not anything external.

You don't have to buy it.

You don't have to watch t.v. for it, or go to a building with a mass of other people for it, or read a book for it.
