What's everyone think about this? Personally, I find it hilarious. Here's a link to the story for those that don't know: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15536263/

It says the man-whore failed the lie detector, but the guy who administered it said he should be retested in a week to make sure it wasn't just all the stress from the press. Ted also admitted to some of the allegations (though they won't specify which ones), and a voice analyst said the voicemails the man-whore had on his machine sounded exactly like Ted.

Of course, most of the church is backing Ted, saying things like "He would never do that!"

It all reminds me of that part of Donnie Darko where they find a kiddy-porn dungeon in that one guy's basement and the teacher admires him so much she just won't believe it's true.

I do have to say I think it would be a terrible thing if the man-whore was lying (and there's no doubt we'll soon find out for sure), but if it's all true...bwahahahahaha! http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

I think it's funny, because Christians think that they're soo perfect. I don't like how churches force their interpritations on their followers. That's why i'm not such a big Christian anymore. Jesus (supposedly), loves all equally. Even non-believers. He wasn't judgemental. But 80% of Christians are like, "WHAT THE HECK, YOUR BF ISN'T A GOOD CHRISTIAN, HE"S NOT WORTH IT!!!!!"

Yep, thats my two cents...

I don't know any Christian that thinks themselves perfect. If there are some out there, they are deluding themselves. We would not be in need of the salvation Jesus Christ offers if we were perfect.

This is a very sad situation. As a leader of a congregation, he should have had the decency to step down, before he was caught.

He was wrong, and he will answer to God for his actions. Just remember, all men are in need of forgiveness, and all men sin...even pastor's.

So the imperfect lead the churches and Christianity? Wow...

Humans are imperfect? Prove it!

All men are in need of forgiveness? Proof?

Haggard made me laff. What a two faced hypocrite.

To his credit, however, he's at least owning up to it.

First you tell them they can't have sex with little boys, and now your mad because this priest may have done meth and had "sexual relations" with a male prostitute?

He has to do one or the other, thats how priesthood works! You can't have it all people. So which would you prefer him have sex with?

Yeah, now you understand, he was taking the moral high road. And now that this misunderstanding is taken care of you can all return to your mega churches to donate more money, comfortable that you know that it will not be spent on candy for little boys, but instead on meth and male prostitutes.

That's like a straight edge person "breaking edge" or "selling out." Those types of things always make me giggle a little bit. Fucking hypocrites.

In the documentary "The Root of All Evil" Richard Dawkins travels the US trying to figure out what makes fundies tick. He ends up interviewing the pastor of this mega-Church in Colorado and pwning the shit out of him. That pastor? Ted Haggard.

I laughed when I heard it. My friend actually went to one of his masses and he said it's the creepiest fucking thing ever. He said something about 'mosh-pit like' moments in it.

His whole congregation seems like they're just fucked in the head.

That was hilarious. The only thing I could think of while watching Haggard was 'this guy looks like he's on Meth.'

So so sad yet so so funny.

I don't think I'm the first say that Ted Haggard, for lack of a better word, has been PWNT!!!

Cheers,

He's a not a priest genius, he's an evangelical minister. He's married and has a wife. He's not ordained under any system and therefore has no requirement of celibacy or any such vows. And as far as I know, which isn't very far, I think Catholicism is the only Christian denomination which requires celibacy. I don't know about Orthodox.

They both receive money from their religion, they both spread religion, and they seem to both break their vows. Sure there might is fine differences in their actual roles in the religion but their basic function is the same, to spread "the word" of their religion, and lead their life as an example of that religion. This is why I don't feel the need to differentiate between them in this context, which if you read my post was satire.

Pffttt...He's still no Jim Jones. Amphetamines, sex with every member of his congregation and died in a huge murder/suicide.

'Dr. Dino' guilty on all counts

Couple could get more than 200 years

"Kent Hovind, founder of Creation Science Evangelism and Dinosaur Adventure Land in Pensacola, was found guilty of 58 counts, including failure to pay $845,000 in employee-related taxes. He faces a maximum of 288 years in prison.

Jo Hovind was charged and convicted in 44 of the counts involving evading bank-reporting requirements. She faces up to 225 years in prison but was allowed to remain free pending the couple's sentencing on Jan. 9."

Oh no! He's anti tax! So what? I don't pay taxes either because I don't support what the government does.

Was I complaining about he being anti-tax? No. Was being "anti-tax" all that Kent Hovind did? No.

It appears your posts have reached a new low.

No offence, but I don't understand how you can stop paying taxes? Doesn't the U.S. Government raid your home after 1 year of not paying?

(This refers mostly to the the post above Rust's)
