Has anyone else noticed that when someone believes in creationism they take the evolution theory as a blow to their ego? For example: I always hear someone argue against evolution by saying "I'm no damn ape!" (or some other animal) and they say it angrily like it knocks humans down a notch for some reason. I find it odd to hear this. It's kind of funny really. Anyone else notice this?

Oh yeah. Go to answersingenesis.org or .com or whatever, look what the ignorant little twits say over there. They claim evolution is inherently racist because once a black guy was shown around in a cage, while the morons who were doing it told everyone that black people were genetically inferior.

In other news, some fuckwits still think Earth is 6000 years old, God is in His heaven, and the pope sits in the vatican with vast amounts of wealth while children starve to death in Africa! More on this after the break.

I think this one of the main reasons that people don't want to accept evolution, It knocks human beings off their pedestal. We like to think that we are 'special' - God’s chosen ones. But to be shown that we are nothing more than clever animals contradicts this idea that we’re different and deflates the ego.

Same thing could be applied to why people were so unwilling to belive Galileo when he defended heliocentrism. It decreased our sense of importance, not being at the centre of the universe, and people hated that.

If it is a blow to your ego, then good your ego was too big to begin with.

Its either their ego or they are blinded by their religion and refuse to accept evolution which is just foolishness and pure stupidity as it happens day to day

one example would by viruses, when there is a virus going around, people are treated to that virus they become immune to it but get a virus again.......... its around the same virus but with jus a tad lil change in it whic means yhour boddy is not immune to it.......... things change all the......... has no one ever noticed how the generations are getting shorter'? h
