Browsing this forum I have noticed a lot of talk about false religions and even atheism.
Firstly and most impotantly, I would like to make it very clear that there is only ONE god.
1 Kings 8:60
"That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else."
Secondly, I would like to say that those who reject their lord and savior Jesus Christ will burn forever in hell.
Lastly, I would like to encourage all of you to visit your local church and to tune into Live Prayer (http://www.liveprayer.com/) every weeknight at midnight eastern (9pm pacific) on the "I" network (formerly PAX-TV).
God bless you. http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

I’d flame you so hard if it wasn’t for the fact that you’re a troll satirising Christianity.
I, personally, have come to believe existence itself and knowledge itself is God - i.e. I’m a pantheist, although I prefer to use the word ‘nature’ instead of ‘god’ and to not construe the wrong image in people’s minds, I prefer to call myself an ‘atheist’ for most people consider God to be some personal deity in the sky.
Basically, it’s Einstein’s God: the universe.
I still feel uncomfortable using the word “god”, due to all the connotations it brings and the fact that pantheism is nothing but sexed up atheism.

all religions are pretty much false religions. what makes you think that with out comparatively inferior minds (as opposed to the infinite wisdom of the almighty) that allows us to know the truth? oh yeah ofcourse, the bible, written by the same idiocy as the reader. what arrogance does it take for a person to assume or hold the beleif that they are the center of god's attention? hell if i was all power, all knowing and beyond time itself, i'd be bored as hell but i wouldnt create a bunch of ants just to watch'em struggle to survive.
and quoting the bible's the lamest source of 'proof' or argument for god's existence. its completely self sealing... if i were to write a book about boogie monsters and refer to that book every time someone disputes me, i wouldnt friking convince anyone would i?

I don't know if you are posting to try and be funny (which I highly suspect (and you fail at it)), but my point still stands:
Quoting from the bible does not constitute evidence.

Woot: +1 for pantheism!
Pantheism isn't exclusive from Christianity, by the way. God himself, in the Bible, makes a declaration of pantheism:
"I am the Darkness and the Light; I am the Beginning and the End; I am all that ever was, is, and will be; I am the Lord...I Am."
In the bible, aside from His declaration of pantheism, the only thing that God lays down directly is to love your brothers. All else was supposedly given to single men, in seclusion, by God: The laws of the Levites, the Commandments, even the New Covenant.
I believe the heart to be the One's methodology of communicating the best option to us, so in some regards I think the laws of the OT and the New Covenant were manifestations of the tuggings on the heart that any individual is prone to experience. The laws of the Levites brought order to their clan and the priesthood; the Commandments brought peace to the 12 clans; and the New Covenant brings peace to the gentiles. In my own life, I find that following the intense sensation of 'gut feelings' has generally led me to quick and easy conflict resolutions in all manners of life, even when the drive of self-preservation was telling me to do otherwise. As a pantheist; I believe this instinctual drive capable of over-riding the typically inerrant drive of self-preservation to be as much a part of the One as the very world around me.
I also believe it to be the source of most benevolent and socially beneficial rule systems.

If Christianity is pantheistic, then it is more masochistic than I believed it to be.
Sorry, I just don't buy into Christianity. Also, I get this gut-feeling that you're trying to convert me, and by your rule I should follow it, and I'm going to ask you to stop, if that is what you are doing. I have never had gut-instincts that Christianity is right, in fact, I had quite the opposite, which lead me to investigate more and then renounce Christianity.

I'd say your gut feeling is wrong; it seems as though the thread starter supported Christianity as the 'true religion'. You brought in pantheism, so I figured I'd mention how the philosophy of pantheism isn't exclusive to Christianity.
I myself am not a Christian, but I do adhere to the Abramaic God's declarations of pantheism and love. The modern religous views of the Abramaic God, as far as I see, are very limited scopes of the God the OT, NT, and Quran portray. And even more narrow scopes of the reality of any God that could or would exist.
It seems everyone focuses on the judgement, the fury, the commandments, the war, the anguish, the suffering...yet in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the only direct action of their God is His pantheism and his commandment of Love - the rest is 'angels' or 'visions'...yay for psilocybe azurescens (also known as manna).
Also, by the way, I have no 'religion'. I have no dogma. I believe in One is All, All is One; nothing much more than that. It's what I find to be the most rational resolution of agnosticism between my skeptical left brain thinking and my faithful right brain thinking.
Peace out.

Atheism isn't a religion, the only thing atheists share in common is a disbelief in God.

It's actually quite funny to watch religious people defend their religion.
You are all so convinced you are right, and that everyone else is wrong, that people watching you go on actually get a chuckle out of it.
I mean seriously - why is the Koran wrong, and the Bible right? Is you ask a Muslim, the Koran is the unequivocal truth. Ask a Christian, and the Bible is the truth. Why wasn't John Smith of the Morman faith right? I mean, he wrote a book too.
It is great for a laugh - keep it up!

He brings up some valid points.
One of reasons I am not a follower of organized religions is because I am not arrogant enough to believe that my religion is right, and others are wrong.

Aye, much the same. The only thing I believe to be unequivocably incorrect when it comes to faith is nihilism. Solipsism, I can grasp. Nihilism seems more incredulous than a book supposedly written by God's inspired followers...

You say there is one God, a specific God, and you offer as evidence an account telling of this God.
Why is this account credible, we ask? Well, you say, God wrote it.
How do we know, I ask? Well, you say, the account says so.
Circular reasoning can't be defeated!
Let me tell you, buddy, I'm not afraid of your scary God. I abandoned him long ago, in favor of the Lady and Lord of all light, the Sun God and the Moon Goddess, mother and father to us all. He is YOUR God, they are YOUR rules, YOU burn in hell.

But eventually you will have to agree that there can be many lies but only one truth.
for example: The grass is? - blue, purple, red, green, yellow, pink or there is no grass.
That is the best metaphor I can think of concerning all the religions. All religions talk about God or a god. If everyone claims they are right but then all of them contradict each other, then not all of them can be right. If there is a contradiction then there is a lie because the truth can't contrdict itself.
I can tell you all day that grass is pink or there is no grass at all as it is just your imagination that there is grass. If I was charismatic and convincing enough I could get a lot of people to believe what I'm saying. However, eventually the truth will win the day.

Dismiss the areas that are contradicted by multiple sources (for religion, this would be the dogma); make further inquiry into that which is corroborated by the multiple sources (for religion, this would be the existence of a god and the message of love).
Taking the corroborated whole of religion into account, you come out with 'God Is' and 'Love, love, love!'
All the morals, practices, guidelines, commandments, punishments, etc. are all in contradiction with eachother...chances are, just maybe, that humans made all this extra shit up to scare you into behaving a certain way to solidify their power structure.
Believing in God and showing love causes no loss of individuality...obeying all the insane shit found throughout the various religious texts of the world turns you into a certified goober: "What good is salt if it has lost its flavor?" -Jesus
the bible is a very good book. its paper is thin, so it burns nicely. god is a good guy. he just has a bad manager so he only published the bible.jesus was a hippie but thats allright.im glad the mother fucker got nailed to a cross because he raped little children and thaught men how to love each other.we should love all humans. but not those mother fuckers from other religions, those ones are not good.jesus's mother was virgin.he is a good man. its a shame he is dead he could be cleaning my dog's shit to show his love for mankind.

I dont see many people noticing this yet...most major religions basically say the same damn thing fundamentally. be good and you get a reward, be bad and your next life(this includes afterlife) will suck. be nice, dont lie.
I personnally dont care about religion, or what happens to me after Im dead. if I get to walk around like a ghost, hellz yea, if I go into a fiery pit,I'll get used ot the heat sometime. plus, I'd be already dead how could it get worse?
if you have to know my personal belief I think LaVey satanism makes the most sense and seems more plausible than the white light religions.

I love it how this so called "God" gives you the diesase and the cure. I also love the way his followers use fear or what they would call truth to recruit followers. Also it has been said many times before, but it must be said again. First there is as much evidence supporting your religion as there is all the other religions. Second have fun burning in the imaginary hells of the other some hundred religions, die and reaizing you will be eaten by maggots, your "soul" is non-exsitant and jack shit will happen when you die. When you die you'll stay right were you are, six feet under.

All paths lead to God. Some are quicker than others however.
We are all units of energy attracted to a state of pure love. This unbreakable attraction is what ensures our place within it, not even eating fish on friday can stop this.
