"Well the thing about life is, it gets weird. People are always talking ya about truth. Everybody always knows what the truth is, like it was toilet paper or somethin', and they got a supply in the closet.
But what you learn, as you get older, is there ain't no truth. All there is is bullshit, pardon my vulgarity here. Layers of it. One layer of bullshit on top of another. And what you do in life like when you get older is, you pick the layer of bullshit that you prefer and that's your bullshit, so to speak. "

sorry to break it to you like this bro, but only I know the complete truth.
I am sorry you feel that way, but I will not try to change your truth for you.

The truth is precious to me, and to quote Heraclitus: “Seekers after gold dig up much earth and find little”.
instead of bullshit what if it was truth that was in layers?

I believe that there are few absolute truths in this world.
Throughout human history, certain things have been taken for fact, just to be discredited years later. And years after that, that becomes discredited.
There are no truths, but rather current beliefs.

I used to think that too, but Descarte's Cogito pretty much proved that there is at least one truth: "But I have convinced myself that there is absolutely nothing in the world, no sky, no earth, no minds, no bodies. Does it now follow that I too do not exist? No: if I convinced myself of something [or thought anything at all] then I certainly existed. But there is a deceiver of supreme power and cunning who is deliberately and constantly deceiving me. In that case I too undoubtedly exist, if he is deceiving me; and let him deceive me as much as he can, he will never bring it about that I am nothing so long as I think that I am something. So, after considering everything very thoroughly, I must finally conclude that the proposition, I am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever it is put forward by me or conceived in my mind."
But besides the Cogito I greatly disagree with Descartes.

Yeah. I just wondered what people would say.
It's not really what I think - I just thought it was funny when he told his son that in the movie. I guess it's like something I would say when I'm drunk.
