The Pope is going to Turkey today to hold talks with Orthodox leaders, but the predominantly Muslim country seems just to want to kick his ass as a result of his having described Islam as a generically violent religion, quoting one of the Holy Roman Emperors.
In my view, the Pope was doing his job to say that Islam sucks, and even if I don't agree with his words, he shouldn't be criticised for saying them. If anything, he is not doing as much as he should be, being the representative of the one Christian God.
Feelings?

I just hope no muslims are stpid enouhg to try kill him...
Seriosuly, get some extremist Catholics incited, some extremist Muslims....
And we got some fucked up shit going on.
Then again, I don't feel that what he said was in any way insulting to islam. From what I heard of it, he was quoting another guy for a start , and I was sure he was referring to fundies....
Goes to show that no matter what religion you look at it's still got some stupid-ass cunts in there somewhere.

It is funny actually. IMO, the Pope's attempt to begin a dialogue with Orthodox Christianity or Islam just shows religious fear for the rise of secularism in western civilization. There is simply nothing to dialogue about between quite incompatible dogmas. Being against secularism is the only thing they have in common.
