"So far as religion of the day is concerned, it is a damned fake... Religion is all bunk." - Thomas Edison
Theology has the same relation to religion as history does to truth, ie none to speak of.

Not sure, one of the Logion Of Thomas I would imagine.
Although I'm also partial to some of that Old Testament Prophetical ranting and the first chapters of Genesis.

That's an amazing quote.
Here's mine:
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
If I speak in the tongues of men and angels,
but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a tinkling symbol.
And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.
And if I dole out all my goods, and
if I deliver my body that I may boast
but have not love, nothing I am profited.
Love is long suffering,
love is kind,
it is not jealous,
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.
It is not discourteous,
it is not selfish,
it is not irritable,
it does not enumerate the evil.
It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth
It covers all things,
it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things,
it endures in all things.
Love never falls in ruins;
but whether prophecies, they will be abolished; or
tongues, they will cease; or
knowledge, it will be superseded.
For we know in part and we prophecy in part.
But when the perfect comes, the imperfect will be superseded.
When I was an infant,
I spoke as an infant,
I reckoned as an infant;
when I became [an adult],
I abolished the things of the infant.
For now we see through a mirror in an enigma, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known.
But now remains
faith, hope, love,
these three;
but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13
At least.... That's the favouritist quote I can think of.

i went to god just to see, and i was looking at me - manson
A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.

You don't understand it unless it makes you laugh and it's not true if it doesn't make you cry. Discordianism.

"When the Buddha start to wander around India shortly after his enlightenment, he encountered several men who recognized him to be a very extraordinary being. They asked him, 'Are you a god?' 'No,' he replied. 'Are you a reincarnation of god?' 'No,' he replied. 'Are you a wizard, then?' 'No.' 'Well, are you a man?' 'No.' 'So what are you?' they asked, being very perplexed. 'I am awake.'"
Though I'm not a Buddhist, I am partial to their parables. And the odd Zen Koan never went astray.

Excepting the fact that the band is one of the finest jokes I've ever come across...you think Brian Warner really takes his band seriously? It started with the name 'MARILYN MANSON AND THE SPOOKY KIDS'...it's a fucking joke! He's not a devil worshipper, he's an entertainer!
'I'm not ashamed, you're entertained'
'I'm just a boy, playing the suicide king'
'I never really hated the one true god, just the god of the people I hated'
'Do you love your guns? God? Government?'
For shit's sake, he's a socio-political satirist in music form...and he makes money off of it as well. Oh NOEZ! The devil worship!
False prophet? No. Straw man for the uptight? Yes.

"Whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him neither in this World nor in the world to come."
Shows the real nature of the Christian God: shallow, egotistical vileness.
