Really? Everyone above claimed to have "quotes" from the Qur'an, when I'm pretty sure that none of it was written in English. So how the hell did they manage to get English quotes from it? None of that is the actual text of the Qur'an. Even assuming it was, if that makes a religion violent and hateful... having quotes like that in its holy texts, then undeniably Judaism and Christianity are as well:

"In the Bible's book of Deuteronomy it says that if a man marries a woman and then decides that he hates her, he can claim she wasn't a virgin when they married. At that point her father must prove she was a virgin. (How is not explained.) If he can't, then the woman is to be stoned to death at her father's doorstep. (22:13-21)"
