I have been watching a lot of shows on TV about the Isamic faith and it seems real intersting and almost one of the only true faiths unlike Christanity. This is what really pushed me away from chirstianity. So I'm ordering a copy of the Qur'an off of Amazon tonight when I get back from work. Its the fully arabic version with a tranlated version by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. It is considered to be the best English version out there.

Im not sure if I want to join the Islamic faith, but it does seem intersting and will be a good read. It will also provide an insite into the culture so I can get away to what the American culture thinks and teachs about it.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me some insite on the faith from person knowlege.

Why are you buying it? I got mine for free off the internet. The religion isn't bad, it's just that there are so many extremists in it that it gives the whole religion a bad name.

It's a good religion. I don't think I've read the Qu'ran in its entirety, but I've had several classes discussing Islam. Good stuff.

I have been meaning to check it out I will look into that translation.

Yea I just got a free one instead. freequran.org I belive is the site but im not sure. Just google Free Quran. Cant wait till it arrives.

Funny thing is I live in Florida and Have most of a pilots class finsihed...Need a few dozen more guided flights and my solo and I have my license.

I'm not. I'm saying the qu'ran is a horrible book, it talks about doom and judgement day far more than it talks about peace or salvation.

I bough that version last week some time, I'm reading it and some of the Gnostic Gospels ....

What I've read isn't that bad, but it doesn't seem to have the same ... flow, as the Bible ... It keeps getting bogged down on God's own hangup on himself.

Mind you I'm only on the 6th sura. So I'm guessing something better will come along.

Religion is the OPIATE of the masses....cult would indicate a specific religion, not just religion in general.
