All religions die.
I mean, you only see a very select (and special http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)) few worshiping the likes of Zeus or Odin or whateverother incarnation history has accepted.
Surely Christianity is no different (no matter how much youd like to think otherwise).
So the question is, how long do you believe before Christianity is abandoned and viewed as little more than a mythology, comparable to that of the Greeks, Romans, Norse or Egyptians?

Very interesting question.
Honestly, I have no idea.
I think it depends largely on politics. Most of the world's leader are Christians ( unless you believe that they are secretly occultist, which I believe can be possible )
I'm sure Christianity still has a long time to go before it is completely abandoned. Eventually people will get tired of waiting for their messiah.

Christianity pretty much killed the ancient European religions so it's safe to say that christianity will end when something else kills it.

I doubt it. I doubt the human race will last forever, and Christianity will die with it.

You really believe all of that Revelations crap?
I'd like to see it shifted from mainstream culture in my lifetime, but I can only hope.

My guess is when google, wal-mart and haliburton merge in to one large conglomerate and take over the entire world. You know it'll happen too.
But seriously, it's hard to say as sometimes major political shifts in the way the world (or large parts of it) sometimes take centuries, other times just decades. And as it stands, such a large percentage of the world is either christian, jewish, or islamic that it would take something very radical for that to dissipate fully.
Also, we're at a point in our society where people are becoming more secular, though not to the point where they actually renounce religion. They just do a half assed job of following it. This makes me think there may be a small chance of these people accepting totally new religions, as now religion is lower on the priority list for most people than it used to be.
If I had to put money down on it, I'd say 400 years.

I'd say the new testament has some fucked up shit too. Jesus seems to get off, talking about the gnashing of teeth, and actually, after reading it, Jesus doesn't seem like such a nice fellow.

Christianity does not have long. My guess is it has at most about a hundred years. People are beginning to see what crap the leaders are doing and starting to turn away from it.
