ok i am an athiest and i got somethign for you guys to think of. read this its really cool.
lets say there is a major airplane carrying 300 people. its flying around, then for some reason (say engine trouble or weather, idont know, use your imgaination) the plane crashes. say everybody but 1 baby dies. you will probably think to your self, god must have been watching out over that 1 baby, but waht about the 299 other people, was he watching out for them?

perhaps your arguement is stupid in that it assumes people will think the baby was saved...

The argument is totally fallacious, in that it ignores the fact that we all have immortal souls--life is eternal. Nothing that happens in any one lifetime--and we have as many as we choose to have--is of any lasting consequence.
God does not reward, punish, or judge--just loves and creates.

What if the thought that evokes is nothing but, "What a stupid scenario. The baby is guaranteed to die." Why? Wolves, or whatever natural predator the area has. Lone baby = food.

God did nothing, that entire event was caused by man-made failure.
If you're going to critique religious belief, at least get the picture right.

Good point.
Good grief, I get so sick of hearing unevolved people whine about "Oh boo hoo, why did God let this happen?"
DUH--can you say "free will"?
