Supposedly God talks to 3 prophets within a relatively short period of time. In all sense, God is a metaphor to give people the hope and strength to accomplish things and guide on how to treat other people. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all worship the same god. And yet their outlooks on life be so different? The only explanation for this is they cheated off each other and as Christianity and Islam grew, they stole things from Judaism, and Islam stole from both previous religions. "God" is a fabricated being to promote love, peace, and faith.

Tell me, do you believe in governments, laws, morals, family, contracts, ect.?

Government is a mental construct that allows one to submit, guilt-free, to the will of others. All that exists are power hungry men.

Law is a mental construct that allows one to submit, guilt-free, to the will of the mass. All that exists are men who enforce in the name of a lie.

Morality is a mental construct that allows one to submit, guilt-free, to fear and desire. All that exists is a fear of suffering and a desire to escape it.

Family is a mental construct that allows one to submit, guilt-free, to a bond backed by birth-relations, which actually gaurantee no relation whatsoever. All that exists is genetic derivitives.

Contracts are a mental construct that allows one to submit, guilt-free, to past ideas and promises. All that exists is a sheet of paper covered in ink.

These are just a few examples of shit people treat as entirely real when they are just as much bullshit as a descript God; the God that believers 'know' is a pathetic imitation of the unkown god formed into an imaginary friend to bring comfort at night and through trials.

Religion is something that is drilled into the majority of people from a VERY early age, when people are still developing and aren't capable of thinking logically or learning about and understanding science. That's not something that's easy to walk away from.

I'm sure that if everyone on the planet had to finish high school, before being taught religion, they'd laugh their ass's off and think nothing else of it. But when you've been taught something you from an early age by your parents who strongly believe, It takes time to come to terms with.

I know it was something that I gave serious thought too, I spent months contemplating if it was what I really believed.

I'm not so sure.... I think that given the oppurtunity people will quite happily believe in anything they can get there hands on. I think that people generally want to believe in things. For example look at all the people who believe in ghosts or are otherwise superstition. I think that certain religions are drilled into kids, but people can still choose to pursue some kind of spiritual desire.

A correct conception of God? Well, for one to exist, the indiividual concieving this God would have to have absolute knowledge in order to understand an infinite being...and I'm pretty sure an individual of absolute knowledge would be fitting of the title God. I believe in a God personal only to myself. Since God is infinite and has human qualities only in the realm of humanity (the planet we call Earth) then the nature of God is largely unfathomable to me. But I enjoy learning what little bit I can.

I think religions are human "inventions" that sprang up as the population increased. They are our first attempts at "government" of of the masses. This came about due to a percieved need to instill law, morality, family, ORDER, in what had become societies instead of scattered bands of people. In this day of globalization and human expansion to the point we're about to eat ourselves off the goddamn planet, I think we have gone way, way past the point we should have in using religions to guide societies. Some Middle-Eastern countries are proud of being governed by Islamic law. Here in the US, in spite of the constitutional separation of state and religion, the government is largely run by Christians or people influenced by Christian beliefs and morality. Human secularism, fueled by science, and other advances (such as the Internet) is on the rise. At this point, with the polar ice caps melting, it may be too late to save us as a species. We probably aren't the first that was so "successful" we killed ourselves.

If you want to be scientific and logical, study metaphysics, it is proof that "god" exists. If you dont believe in god, you MUST bel;ieve in metaphysics, otherwise: you aren't any more evolved than ignorant, irrational religious folk.

I think everything would be better off if they just followed what the Bible taught (NOT KILLING PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T CONVERT), I mean sure you may not believe it some of it, its not backed by science or anything, but it teaches people to respect one another, to do things that are right. Some of you ass wipes will say "well how do you decide what is really right and what is really wrong". WELL USE COMMON SENSE and even I would think most people would agree that killing, stealing, all other malicious things are bad.

I guess I'm just different, I'm not the person that goes to church every sunday or takes religon to an extreme. But I do generally think The Bible teaches people to love each other, ect.



I'm just giving by 2c, ill be staying out of this sub-forum for awhile, its not even logical to discuss such things, Athiests can't prove God does not exist and Christians can't prove He does exist.
