hey do you guys believe that the universe had a beginning and will have an end? im just curious cause i thought they said on the science channel that eventually the universe will die and cease to exist or something like that.
There are two major theories, the closed and the open universe. The closed universe theory says that the universe will expand, reach its limit, and snap back into a pre-big band state. The open universe theory says that the universe will continue to expand until it eventually dissappates.
This is just what I remember from highschool science. Someone with a better understand could give a better explanation.
Also, don't confuse the theory of evolution with these theories. They explain completly seperate aspects of the universe.
Elaborate on what eactlu you mean by beggining the end of the universe.
Evolution thory is not directlly related to the theories related with the creation of the universe or theories related to the ultimate end of the universe. But people who prefer a naturalistic view of the universe usually subscribe to one of these theories for the end of the universe as we can perceive it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_fate_of_the_universe
and for the beginning as we know it usually something along the lines of the big bang

Uh, evolution has nothing to do with how the world began, it has to do with speciation.
Also, I've never heard the term "evolutionists" before... you don't think that evolution is a religion, do you? 0.o
Why do Christians confuse every scientific theory with evolution??
How can you possibly confuse or even relate the big bang theory to the theory of evolution?

because they haven't attended a science class before. Or constant drilling of church into there brains made them forget.
There is no cosmological equivalent of evolution yet, only biologically.

my bad evolutionists prob. tend to beleive in all that but i guess ill say the correct term, what do naturalists think?

Your highly confused.
"Evolutionists" simply understand the science. You dont call people who understand gravity, gravitists do you?
And believe in what? The big bang theory is a pretty damn good theory to explain the universe for what we can observe right now. What happend before the big bang, nobody knows. And anything trying to explain it is just an idea, including religion. What will happen in 20 billion years or whatever we can make educated guesses with understanding of physics but they will be just a hypothesis, not a theory
The thing with religion is everything has to be right, and it has to be the end all explinations. Science is not the same. It doesnt burn me up inside and cause my life to spiral out of control into a pit of drugs and murder just because I dont know what started everything off. I just hope we do find out more thruogh science, wich I think we will.

Ignorance more often begets confidence than knowledge.
The truth is, we don't know.
There are a lot of theories, but as far as the end of the universe goes, they are mostly hypothesis.
We do not have to know all these things now. There is no requirement. And, we don't. But that's just fine.
I hope you aren't so simple as to think that your religion answers the questions, no?
Telling us the universe must have a beginning but God doesn't is begging the question.

If you ask me, the universe never began but is constant. When you look at the universe for what it really is, its just a bunch of energy forming shapes and flowing in frequencies simulating solid forms, light, and even life forms. The energy that forms everything never ceases to exist, and always has existed. We have no reason to believe that there ever was a time without it. The big bang was simply nothing more than a beginning of arranging that energy to form something tangible, and will eventually reach it's mathematically predictable maximum expansion point do to limiting variables of that energy, and then will reverse back towards simple energy again. However, the energy always maintains constant throughout time. And since the universe therefore always moves at the maximum speed of energy, no time actually passes, but rather time is relative comparisons of what point the simulation is at. It's that simple, but more complex than most can deal with.
this masta theif thread sux he's no longer mouthing off like a stupid wigger.
