What Does Calvary Represent?
How many christians have asked themselves this simple question? This is what we base our faith in Christ Jesus off of, and yet we haven't even tried to understand the character of the man and the reason for why. GOD IS SIMPLE. Always remember that.
Romans 10:9 & 10
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Ok. I want to say this, and this isn't what I started to say when this topic began. I think that there are alot of people walking around calling themselves christians because they were 'scared' into salvation, but a change never occurred in their lives. Um, I was taught not to judge the person, but always judge the fruit. Needless to say, if you get born again and the HEART never really believed then the LIFESTYLE will NOT match up, but if you REALLY BELIEVE unto RIGHTEOUSNESS, your lifestyle begins to change. If you get 'born again' and no one ever sees a difference in your lifestyle, something's wrong. I would question your salvation. Yes, once you're saved you're saved UNLESS YOU RENOUNCE CHRIST. Not many are stupid enough to do that, but I'm sure there are some. I do NOT believe in the 'predestination salvation'. THAT IS NOT SCRIPTUAL IN THAT CONTEXT. MY BIBLE SAYS IN JOHN 3:16 FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD. Yes, SALVATION WAS PREDESTINED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, but IT WAS INTENDED FOR THE WORLD, and it still IS. I serve the LIVING GOD. The Alpha and the Omega. The God of grace, you can't earn His salvation, it's a free gift of God that is available for ANYONE who will BELIEVE.
Now, I remember when I was about 12 or 13 years old, we had this 'Y2K' scare hit. Alot of people believed that the world was going to 'crash' and come to a halt, because computers we not going to be able to make the switch from 1999 to 2000, that it would go back to 1000, and crash. So there were people for a year, some way before that, that had began to stock up on water and can goods. Well, it's because they believed THIS, and they began to ACT in accordance with their belief. AS A MAN THINKS IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE. Men really believed that y2k was going to be horrid so they PREPARED for it.
If you really believe what the Word of God says, you don't live like Hell on Earth, you begin to PREPARE yourself for the coming of the King of kings, and Lord of lords. YOU PRESENT YOURSELF A LIVING SACRIFICE holy and ACCEPTABLE, before the Lord.
Christians, if you really believe that Jesus is coming back, and thousands may go to Hell, and that you may be someone's only opportunity to hear the Gospel, you wouldn't miss it. Jesus is coming back, and we say we believe this, be are we concerned at all about those who might go to hell? ARE WE DOING ANYTHING TO STOP THEM?
Charles Haddon Spurgeon put it like this.. "If you don't desire that souls be saved, then you're not saved and you can be sure of that." BOLD STATEMENT. He also said this.. "If we really b elieved that there is a hell, and the reality of hell was real to us we would be STOPPING THE UNBELIEVERS by IMPLORING THE GOSPEL unto them." He said, If there were thousands of people walking off the edge of a cliff unto rocks that would kill them, and they didn't know it, because they couldn't see, that we would be standing between those people and the cliff screaming out, "IF YOU KEEP WALKING THIS WAY, YOU'RE GOING TO FALL OFF OF THIS CLIFF ONTO ROCKS AND DIE."
Hey and anyone who would say anything against Christians who do this, I don't care, and they don't either. THEY'RE DOING WHAT THEY NEED TO BE DOING, AND MANY MORE SHOULD STAND UP AND HAVE THE BACKBONE AND TRUSTING CONFIDENCE IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO THE SAME.
Now, this is what this topic was started to say. Calvary doesn't only represent HOW MUCH God loves you, but how much HE HATES SIN. It's the SIN that separated Him from You. We too should hate sin to the same degree. After all, Jesus is Our Lord, and The Father is our EVERYTHING, and He did it all to get to US, a people who would love Him by choice, and our love shouldn't be worldly, it should be HOLY, unto Him, pleasing. We should DESIRE to be connected with Him at all times, hating any sin that would try to come in and cause limitation on the power of God in our lives. We should live free from sin, and not like we're bound to it. We're bound to life, we're bound to Christ, if we confess Him as LORD, and Christ, isn't bound. If Jesus isn't Lord over ALL, then He isn't Lord at all.
NO MORE HALF HEARTED JUNK!! It's HYPOCRISY! Either you're for Him or against Him. Either you're ON FIRE, or you're COLD. You know what He thinks about 'lukewarm'? He'll spew you out of His mouth. IT'S NASTY to Him!
