Lately I've noticed more and more that I fucking hate them. I'm usually a very open-minded person, though. My best friend and boyfriend are both really Christian, and I was raised Jewish and taught to not be racist and hate groups of people and so on, but Christians just piss me off so much. The more I learn about them, the more it seems like all they do is fuck things up.

Maybe someone could change my mind or let me know that I'm not the only one this fucking angry.

Christians piss me off sometimes too. But isn't hate kind of a strong term to use against someone who has a different set of beliefs than you? Hate gets you nowhere. What is the purpose? Don't like Christians? Then avoid them, at all costs! But to hate someone for what they believe in is ludicrous.

I'm just sick of having all their beliefs constantly pushed on me. My boyfriend is always trying to talk about god when I just want to make these decisions at my own pace, and my pre-med teacher was violating the separation of Church and state law/ doctrine whatever it is by constantly talking about how everything is so perfect and it HAD to have been made by god and how athiests are stupid and so on. It's all very upsetting.

Just out of curiosity do Jews piss you off? I think you have labled yourself as an Atheist if I have it correctly so I mean like religious Jews. How do you find it differs from Christianity in how it's annoying you? I'm neither a Christian or a Jew just interested because your frustration seems to be aimed at one faith not faith in general.

My guess is that she's agnostic, and frustrated that the people closest to her are trying to force their opinions down her throat.

My second kernel of advice to Goodbyegrandpa:

Fight fire with fire. Voice your opinions as often as you can, and let these people know that you are not going to take a thorough brainwashing lying down! Just because your views on religion may not be the most popular (welcome to the club, btw) doesn't mean they aren't valid and don't have a right to be voiced.

I would put in a sexist comment about your ignorance of the concept of logic, but I try to be the "holier than thou" to piss people off and set an example of how its supposed to be done without a nose in the air.

Her (I assume) boyfriend talks about God and she doesnt like it. She IS talking about something as trivial.

Since she did not go into great detail about specifically what extremes her boyfriend goes to in order to get her to bend to the faith, you really can't assume right off the bat that it's trivial.

It could be a huge strain on their relationship, and what's more - if it's bothering her to the point of making a post about it in order to seek advice from non-Christians, I'd say it was pretty safe to assume that it is something that has caused a bump in their relationship more than once.

You just want to belittle her frustrations into seeming like she can't handle the word "God" being brought up in a sentence, when clearly, she was raised Jewish and is comfortable hearing about it. Would it be so hard for you to assume then, that her frustrations are valid, and that she does not owe this message board every single detail of their conversations or every single instance of their bickering before she can ask for advice?

Hmm, i agree on the "hate christians". I'm the only person in my whole class who aren't some kind of religious. But i've come to the conclusion that i just don't like any extremely religious person, christian, islamist, jehova's witness(i can't describe how much i hate these), whatever. They're anti everything and just plain stupid. But the thing that irritates me the very most, is when these religious folks just refuses STRAIGHT UP _FACTS_ which has actually been proven to be true...

Personal attacks be damned, you are pretty stupid if you cant read my intentions. Does it make much sense for a Nazi to date a burka-wearing Arab just because she can cook? Didnt think so.

Neither does it make sense for anti-religious types to date religious types.

Even then, how are we to give proper advice without "every single detail of their conversations or every single instance of their bickering." It never amazes me as to the idiocy on these boards and this is without exception.

If you ask for advice, you need pertinent details, otherwise assumptions get thrown in.

The only information I have to go by is her anti-Christian rhetoric, regardless of whether or not it is reactionary. Sounds to me like she is being a baby about it, but lacks any sort of initiative to talk with her boyfriend.

Thus, I play tough love and tell her to grow the fuck up. Babies dont need to be making these sorts of decisions if they arent mature enough to handle them. Thats a job for men and women.

And if you or the OP cant read betwen the lines and see that I am offering real advice, kindly close your browser because totse would be a much better place if we would all think.
