Why would God require to be male or female?
The Ethiops say that their gods are flat-nosed and black,
While the Thracians say that theirs have blue eyes and red hair.
Yet if cattle or horses or lions had hands and could draw,
And could sculpture like men, then the horses would draw their gods
Like horses, and cattle like cattle; and each they would shape
Bodies of gods in the likeness, each kind, of their own.

Deity transcensds gender, but in my book, God (or the Graet Spirit) is not an entity in any way, shape or form.
God is the eagle that rides the wind, and the wind itself.
God is the wide-eyed wonder of a child, and the knowing smile of age.
God is the innocence of the fawn in the forest, and the hunger of the wolf that feeds upon the fawn.
God is the sunrise and the rainbow and the storm.
God is the power, and the glory, and the life everlasting.
god doesn't exist.
neither does santa claus.
when you give up your childish delusions you can join us at the grown-up table.

If you're going to apply such an extreme stipulative definition to God, then all discussion of God becomes almost meaningless, as anyone has the ability to apply their own stipulative definition of God for themselves.
The term "God" is agreed upon to mean the supreme creator of the universe who usually possesses traits such as omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. Any other definition of God merely creates confusion, and needs to be avoided, except maybe for 'poetic' reasons. This confusion can be readily observed in Einstein's use of God as well as Hawking's use of the term.
I'm an atheist, but for me to say I believe in God because I am using the stipulative definition of God to mean a natural, unintelligent force that created the universe, would only create confusion, which is why it should be avoided.
