Islam differs from your faith only in that they have more loyal reverence to their God than you do. A great number of them follow it to the LETTER.

If you think about it, Islam and Christianity both require their followers to do the same thing, really - give over their lives to God, without question.

The Muslims are just more passionate and disciplined about it as a whole than the Christians, who have a broader reach of simple human pleasures and can pretty much live like a heathen as long as they ask for Jesus to enter their hearts at the very last possible second.

Both ideologies have their similarities and different points of view. Both ideologies seem to be seriously warped, in my opinion.

It's also fucking stupid because he starts saying that "the bible says" , then moves onto "Organised religion says." Organised religion is not, and never will be the true path to God. The bible reveals the inspiration God has delivered on men, or that men have been inspired to write by what they have seen. Organised religion can be good, but is often wrong, it is an organisation of control, when it should be one of salvation.

Jesus himself defied the religious leaders at the time, should we not take this from Jesus? If religious leaders do something that is wrong is it not our duty to oppose them?. Jesus himself states that we should love each other as neighbours, I'm not sure where everyone else comes from, but where I live it's unacceptable, and has alwasy been unnaceptable to rape a person, never mind a child. The Old Testament mentions how wrong rape is (Although I'm sure you're aware of the notable exceptions), so we even have precedent there. Now I'm sure there's probaly a passage from the bible that says "rape everyone", I'm not particularly bothered, what bothers me is the stupid ass first post.

To summarise:

1. To rape someone goes directly against christian ethics.

2. The Clergy are men too, as such they are not perfect, they suffer from temptation, it is up to them to othercome it. (not come over it). It strikes me that a man who joins the clergy and yet cannot control himself is not a christian at all.

3. God may be all powerful, and all knowing, but to intervene in our lives would stop any free-will we have. We make these decisions, not God.



and the final point (that I can think of):

4. He (the OP) could have at least used the inconsitent triad and the problem of evil. That would have been better than that other pile of shit.

I wasn't supporting it, I was stating why Mary being 9 or 11 and Mohammad fucking little girls wasn't a big deal back then and that whether you're a secularist or a theist, you should take history into consideration, because social norms are in constant flux.
