Aren't there Macedonian religions that predate Hinduism? Not only predate, but provide the stories that are used in every organized religion in existence today.

He's right in that Hinduism is generally accepted to be the oldest recorded religion. Loads of stories have been stolen from it, such as the binding of Isaac.

Actually math and physics started in Greece. Then Greek influence moved it down to Egypt. From Egypt it was spread to the Arabs in Northern Africa and the Middle East. All cultures had their versions of math, there is no denying that. But modern day mathematics had its birth in Greece.

All you have to listen to is the name "algebra." It is clearly of Arabic descent. I don't know if there is a connection or not, but the angel that told Mohammad what to recite (Koran) was named Al'Jibra. The Archangel Gabriel if I remember correctly.

Hinduism is dependent on castes, which are a social structure. Before social structures, when humans lived in small tribes and families, you had animism. It is a very simple concept of spirits and magic. It probably isn't as much a single religion as a collective of beliefs among primitive peoples.

http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/a/animism.htm

Many religions grew out independently from these simplistic belief systems. Judaism is a development from a family god religion, where an individual family has their own god to protect them -- in this case, the first to have Elohim ("Lord") as his god is attributed to Abraham. I'm not completely sure about this, but I believe family gods developed from the individual worship of animals and the like.

Many of the tribal areas like those of Africa and the Americas are developments of animism. The Voodoo religion is a certain example, famous for its use of sympathetic magic, which is common in animism.

The entire collection of gods that Hinduism has suggests that it is the result of many religions assimilating each other, as was the Greek religion (remember how Zeus had so many wives?) Thus I disagree that it is the origin for these religions. However, I will agree that it is most certainly one of the oldest major religions still around, and that it gave rise to Buddhism. These two religions have had an impact on the religions of the world around it. One can see the impact Buddhism had on Jesus' teachings.
