The bible tells the story of Jesus and how he was sent here to die and cleanse the sins of man, because God was pissed about all the sinning we were doing. I have 2 questions about this:

1. Why did god need to bring a person into the world so that he could pay for everyone else's sin? God is all-powerful, he could have solved the "sin problem" by merely snapping his almighty fingers. So WTF is up with that?

2. How is it possible god was mad at all? God is perfect, and therefore should not have any human emotions like anger.

god doesn't do abortion. i guess this was the closest alternative.

Maybe Jesus is a physical manifestation of God.

Also the act of sending Jesus down may have been Gods way of "clicking his fingers".

Remember the Bible was written by man. It's easier for people to relate to figures that bear human characteristics. Explaining God in a more scientific basis (In those days) would probably lose a lot of readers since they wouldn't have the education to understand what the fuck was being said.

I think the Bible was right for it's time but it's time to move on.

So you suppose the answer is in there? I've read all of the New Testament and a good bit of the Old. The mandates for getting into heaven are belief that Jesus is the son of God, sent to take the sins of the world away and a baptism of water and word. Thus, it doesn't particularly matter why he needed to die for the world's sin to be forgiven, but yet the answer does not lie in that tome as to why he had to die.

Anyway, there are plenty of errors and contradictions and logical proofs to disprove any sort of relevant God. Also, subsequently, I'm an atheist.

If God were to "snap his fingers" and take sin away completely, just like the way he is as soon as the saved enter his kingdom....it would just take away our free will.

We choose to either believe in Him or not. No one is force you, this isn't Islam.

You need to understand that the Bible is largely myth and metaphor. Jesus is only one of many people who have been called to serve as spokesmen for God, in aid of those who for whatever reason are not able to access, communicate with God on their own.

You correctly note that God--being infinite--has no emotions like we do. For a good discussion of this issue, see "What God Wants" by Neale Donald Walsh.

Since neither Jesus nor God needs anything, the thread would be rather short and sweet were it confined to those specific issues.

The only real explanation is this:

There is no dictionary definition of GOD that ever existed.

God did not create anything, he didnt create the earth or the galaxy or life.

God was either an imaginary person that we blame when something goes wrong in our life or thank when something lucky happens. Belief in this image requires much faith, so much faith that the only way to believe is it believe that god is not imaginary.
Belief in god helps us greatly, whether or not god ever exists does not matter. it's the belief.

That said, I myself do believe god does magical things, but i dont think he created "man" or "life" unless you mean mother nature is god.

Jesus had a god in him, he was not a messenger like yahoo or aim allright, so quit saying that.
