View Full Version : Will the anti-christ know he's the anti-christ? Did Jesus know immediately?

Did Jesus know he was the Son of God as soon as he gained conscience thought as a toddler? Or was it sooner than that? I know the story of him teaching in the temple as a young teenager/kid, but at what point does it become clear in one's life that you are the saviour? And what if I'm the anti-christ? Would I know somehow, or would God/Satan reveal it to me at some point in my life? And then wtf does that mean for me, if I've tried to be a good person until I find out I'm the anti-christ, at which point I set out on my apocalyptic ride, even though I know God will smite me and I'll end up in the lake of fire anyway? Sigh. Why even bother... :(

This has been desputed since the times of Jesus. Jews mostly think he didn't know, but was trained and conditioned to be a holy man by mystik rabbis and that he was really a scholar who as a child traveled all over the known world doing "the lords work". Whereas most Christians believe that Jesus was born instinctually knowing that he was god because they believe he is god.

If you are trying to follow Jesus' teachings, then you are probably not the anti-christ.

1 John 2:18
Warning Against Antichrists
18Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
1 John 2:22
22Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3
3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
2 John 1:7
7Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
Based on these verses, it does not sound to me like the anti-christ was/is one specific person.

Actually they sound like they are describing Paul and his followers. There have been great reams written on the Petrine/Pauline supremacy.
So yes lots of antichrists...great hordes of them.

I certainly see myself in that sometimes....

bump.
as for terminology, i use "anti-christ" to refer to the usual satanic figure that appears at the end of the world. no, i don't believe that, i'm just trying to understand.

Just going by the cannon Bible I would extrapolate that Jesus only became fully aware of who he was after being baptised. That is if you want to take the Bible literally. Mary probably told him some stuff before then because she supposedly knew he was God's. Again if you want to take Matthew literally.
What LostCause describes is most likely closer to what actually happened. There is kinda a huge void in time where no one knows what he was up to.
