You really are talking out of your ass, aren't you.

Different neurobiological differences are found in people diagnosed with schizophrenia versus a person with an addiction.

For example, people with schizophrenia usually have misaligned pyrimidal cells in the hippocampus, decreased vascular volume in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, as well as enlarged left and right medial ventricles. Cell abnormalities in the medial temporal lobe are probably correlated with deficits in verbal and spatial memory, while abnormalities in Wernicke's area are often found among patients with thought disorders.
In contrast, the limbic system is implicated in addiction. While both groups of disordered conduct imply the dopaminergic system, schizophrenia is thought to be caused by abnormally high and low levels of dopamine in different pathways. In addiction, the addictive behaviour produces dopamine in response to a conditioned stimulus, be it drugs or gambling.

So basically, you're full of shit.

Ah come on, this guy is either someone with way too much time on their hands having a bit of a trollathon, or a total nutter.

Either way, resistance is futile.

Actually, I know exactly what every single one of those "medical terms" means, and unlike you, I don't need to stoop to ad hominem attacks to prove a point.

If you are actually a psychiatrist (which I don't believe for a second) then you'd know that the treatment guidelines for schizophrenia and addictions/obsessions are very different. Addicts don't respond to anti-psychotics, while schizophrenics won't respond to a drug used to treat opiate addiction, like naltrexone.

Anybody who is suffering from so called compulsive behaviour or has addictions of anykind is a schizophrenic, and he must ask help from a psychiatrist, becouse his brains are defective.

Alrighty then, poor spelling aside, in what way is a compulsive person's brain defective? Care to share a journal article or some sort of validated research to back your point?

Oh, and if you are a troll, congratulations on a job well done.

Nope, I'm definitely using neuroscience textbooks because I learned this information in... wait for it... university! Shocking, I know.

Troll, please leave, and don't come back.

Absentis, I applaud you for your obvious patience and the ability to take (and pass) those neuroscience classes ...

Where did you study neurology? I'm trying to find a good school to advance myself in the field of neurochemistry.

How can you learn off someone else? You are only limiting yourself further by doing that. You have to do it yourself, or what's the point of even learning?

I'm skitzophrenic and I'm hardly a danger to society. And this thread has nothing to do with religion. Moving to humanities.

Cheers,

YOU DON'T HAVE A FOOT.

Every step you take is not that of your own.
