47 CFR Part 11 is the set of rules that govern The Emergency Alert System, it's uses, and all that stuff related to "the duck farts" Yesterday, my EAS box was showing that it was time for the Required Monthly Test to occur. My Programming Director told me to NOT transmit it, because we had done the weekly test earlier in the day. In looking at 47 CFR 11, it says that a Monthly can sub for a Weekly, but not vice versa. My boss ORDERED me to IGNORE a test of The Emergency Alert System, ORDERED me to VIOLATE FEDERAL LAW, and IGNORE FCC RULES!

Report him.

I'd definitely report him. That minute won't kill the station's budget, and as much as people hate the EAS tones, pretty much everyone realizes that it's very important for those tests to take place.

Who do I narc him out to. My County Emergency Management, The State, The FCC?

I'd say FCC and possibly your local EOC.

good god. i've had to run two EAS tests in one day (just did a monthly today, actually) and it's something i certainly wouldn't ignore.
