this isn't a simple 'do you believe' thread, so dont just go "there is no such fucking thing as god, dont ask".
What i want to know from those of you who do believe, do you believe in a cosmic force that keeps the balance, or a man up in the clouds with pearly gates or what do you believe?

thanks :)

I think God is consciousness at the tenth dimension. I've recently discovered how similar some of my beliefs are to certain Hindu texts...

In Hindu theology, Brahman is the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all things in this universe, and is also the sum total of all that ever is, was, or ever shall be.

Tat Tvam Asi; It is generally taken to mean that your soul or consciousness is wholly or partially the Ultimate Reality

I dunno. I've said a lot about God in these forum lately...so thats all I'll type about it here for now.

Maybe I'll post again later.

"you're views on god" ???

You're = you are.

So... "You are views on god"

I think you mean 'your'

More on topic, I view there being multiple gods, not just one

Approval or understanding?

I only added another period because 'Yes.' was too short a message.

Pantheism is great.:)

why doesnt he make himself known in some obvious way?

why doesnt he make himself known in some obvious way?

Although I wholeheartedly DO NOT believe in 'god' the christian argument to that question would be something along the lines of "Because then he wouldn't know who had faith, because if he showed up everyone would believe"

Although thats a stupid reply, because he is "all knowing."

Which leads me to the question, if god is all knowing, then how come we have to go through this shit on earth? He would obviously know as soon as he was suppose to have created us who would have faith and be good, and who would not believe in that shit and be 'evil'. So he could just send us straight to hell or heaven upon creation

why doesnt he make himself known in some obvious way?

I think if God existed he would be obove feeling the need to prove himself.
Also if he did appear in some obvious way. Let's say he towered giant like 2 hundren feet tall and boomed out "I am Gooooood" people would probably go mental with fear.
What's the best safest way for god to become known? I'll tell you. It's for each individual person to search him out and discover him in their own time.

why doesnt he make himself known in some obvious way?

So...picture this. Any of a 100 male ancestors of yours (living or dead) are with you 24/7...at all times! They tell you what to do & how to do it. At the pisser in the mall?

No privacy! He tells you how to do that... Shake it? He watches & comments. In bed with your lover? He watches & comments.

Get up at 0311 to take a dump? He's right in there with you.

At work? He's there & telling you 'How To'. Relate to your fellow workers or in the bar on Fr-night? He's there too.

He makes himself available always.

Are you HAPPY? :p

Here's a somewhat relavent link to BB's 'Opus' comic for 6/17. Salon.com has some interesting letters on the subject too.

>>>ps Do you really want to meet someone who made & owns one Star, (our local one) let alone ALL of them? If you met a guy...just a regular looking guy who owned outright just the one Star? How would he compare with Putin or any of various US presidents or Bill Gates?

Pantheism is what I've settled on right now as a theory of the universe.
I think it's important that a person makes some kind of personal philosophical connection to the concept encompassing ethics, nature and the mind.
Although, it's good to remind oneself that enlightenment and happiness comes in waves.
The amazing thing about pantheism in my mind is how it seems to induce these growth moments out of the blue.
