Ok, i have decided to invest in a scanner for a bit of fun and as my dad is a taxi driver, i can receive radio transmissions (hopefully)

so yeah, i've looked at these 2 scanners and the prices are quite different. First is the basic "Multiband scanner" and is aprox £10

the second one is currently at £36 and is a "RadioShack Pro-67 Scanner", but has a larger frequency and a digital interface, which i presume means it is better (sorry, n00bie here), it was purchased in Amerca (at a RadioShack) and has apparently been able to pick up a lot more transmissions

should I go for the second one, regardless of price? and if anyone has had any experience with similar scanners, are they easy to use?

Many, many thanks

I would definatly go with the second one, it looks much easier to use and something about the first one just looks wrong. You'll be able to scan many more frequencys with the second one as well.

To program its as easy as entering a frequency on the keypad, or just hitting the scan button to listen in on everything.

Yes I would also go for the 2nd one, As the 1st ones are pretty useless as you have to manually scan and can only monitor 1 freq.
