I got this picture in an email, saying: "Who else, but God?". The email is obviously meant to sway disbelievers.
Do you think this suggests a creator, or is a coincidence? Perhaps it's some kind of deep natural pattern that was embedded in certain genetics, since the beginning of evolution ;).

I'll slap you down as "coincidence", then?

It suggests a creator, like all living things.

Something like 300,000 species of flowering plants in the world, and one looks kinda like a bird.
Well, hot diggity damn.
Well I can definitely see how that could help it, no bugs would try to eat it if they thought there was a bird there.
How does this prove god again

Right. For some reason I expected a debate of some sort. Looks like a consensus.

This is slightly more creative than finding the Virgin Mary in your mattress satins.

I don't get it.
They are all pictures of a flower called the "parrot flower". What did you expect them to look like? Slugs?
Try the link below.

I think the flowers all look like.... "Birds of Paradise". Shit. Watch out. God's gunna smite all us unbelievers......

Who are you talking to? I realize that a bird-resembling flower is just as special as any other flower.
But I got an email from someone who obviously feels differently, I wanted to see what other people thought.

Who are you talking to? I agree that those flowers have nothing to do with anything.
But I got an email from someone who obviously feels differently, I wanted to see what other people thought.
Fair enough.
Out of all the flowers in the world, some are going to resemble something else. That one looks a bit like a parrot.
It raises a good point about the mentality of religious people, I think. They can see this flower looks like something, so therefore it must have been created. But what they lack the ability to do is look at 1000 other flowers that all look different, and put the parrot flower into perspective. It just happens to resemble that shape.
It's the same with all those manifestations of the virgin mary. In Sydney a few years ago, some people claimed to see her on a fence post at a certain time of the day. What they failed to do was look at the other 1,000,000 fence posts, and realise one had to look something like her. I'm sure there was one that looked like a dog, one that looked kinda like a car, and all sorts of things. Hell, if we looked long enough, they is probably one that could sort of look a bit like an "&T" symbol.

Although I do believe in God (or a creator of some sort), I do not think the physical appearance of an object or being is an indicator of His presence. I believe an object's form is best suited for its function.
Also, that flower only looks like a parrot from a specific angle, which wouldn't be enough to actually convince other animals it is, in fact, a parrot.

maybe it evolved that way? something about the bird shape being attractive to birds that spread the seeds of the flowers.
the pictures are taken at a certain angle. I'm sure you could make anything into anything with a good angle and good lighting.
