I really want to start a small local radio station, but I know NOTHING of radio. I don't know anything about licensing or anything like that, either. I couldn't really find any information, so I guess it's something really hard to do. Could I please have as much information as possible about the subject?

I am also interested, we need a good classical station... and I have funds for such a venture.

What do you say, ''MiLORd''

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/howtoapply.html

aside from the costs of equipment, there are QUITE a few legal issues. the FCC is anal retentive.

local guys use NRG or veronica transmitter kits. good quality, good stability and they throw in a stereo board for free.

Holy fucking shit. I thought the price would be in the thousands, not near 50,000. And the FCC is ridiculous about this shit.

Pirate radio is a good thing for a hobby. However, FEDCOM is retentive about it.
