with the shit going around in the world, and all the dickheads we all know, stop the bullshit.
at this point, anyone with a solid, decent moral/ethics base is someone to respect, even if theyre opposed to your own personal beliefs.
i guess its a case of what matters most to you: decency or conformity to your opinions.

The meek shall inherit the earth... Piled ontop of their graves!
I can't remember what song that lyric is from. Might be Cannibal Corpse

That's the problem, buddy. Define "decent moral/ethics". You act like "decency" is different from an opinion. Decency RELIES on your opinion of what it is.

Exactly. I wouldn't describe someone who worships a god that needlessly allows suffering to exist, as having "decent moral/ethics". Too bads thats probably half of the world right there.

if you cant discern moral/ethical constants, id suggest its you with the issues.
Please then, help us with our issues. Show us these "constants" and then, answer if worshiping a being which deliberately allows suffering to happen falls withins those "constants".

I agree with you here my friend. There are certain moral rules that everyone adheres to whether they think about it or not. Decency or respect is a pretty easy term to understand and I agree that we should all meet in respect and discuss things in a proper manner. Not with anger or violence but looking for what we are all searching for ... truth.
Psychopaths follow those rules? Really?

So ... why exactly would it matter if there are people worshiping a God that you do not believe in or know anything about their motives and then claim that because they believe in this God they are morally wrong?

Huh? I'm asking him if he would consider someone who worships a god that deliberatly allows suffering to continue, to have a "decent moral/ethics". I don't.
If he doesn't either, then I think he would be surprised at the amount of people who fall in that very category. If he does, then I'd say that the very fact such a disagreement exists shows how silly it is to imply that he knows what these moral constants are. That's why I said/asked what I did.

Rust:
ever look into the causes of most of the needless suffering in the world? most of that is linked to man. nothing cruel or indifferent about that, just greed.

I'm not the one saying that everyone follows the moral rules. He said that, which makes my "snappy one liner" a pretty fucking legitimate question.

What does that have to do with anything? Does it become good or okay if it's done because of greed?

The concept of Respect is the ony moral all people understand
