Hey guys, im travelling down to England in a month and there is going to be 2 cars travelling down with me, I was wondering since i have 2 way radios, ( i stole them from the place i work - score) would they still work when the cars are travelling at say 60 - 80mph with a distance of 3 miles (the radios apparently are 26 miles, so in retrospect probs only really 15 miles). Any feedback will be appreciated. THanks

in theory yes, i tried it before with some cheap 2 mile ones and it worked... but you can get a bit of interferance from the moving objects around you from cars over taking ect.
post back with your experience though, because it im intrigued

Me too, theoretically radio waves shouldnt be affected by the speed (given that the cars will more or less be at the same speed). The only thing im bothered about is as you said benneh, interferance. The spec of the radio is - Midland GXT-700 incase you wanted to know! Theyre not too bad (seem to come from america, which is another thing- they should work over here without me getting fined for not having a liscence right?). Thanks

sorry i cant be bothered to tinyurl it, or hyperlink it, but thats the instructions for it,
in england, the laws on PMR radios are that it must be on certain frequences on 446 band
these ones are lower and span a larger wave length... but the police shouldnt be to bothered by it as they use digital now, and the chances are, if you were pulled over, it would only be by a standard traffic, who probably wouldnt know whether it was an america or english radio...
