First before I add my thoughts, I want my fellow totseans to add their own.

Fallicies(sp?) in the bible?
Raping of the pagans?
General behavior of christians, or at least those who claim to be?

Anything, just go for it, I'll add my thoughts after a few posts.

Fallicies(sp?) in the bible?

Fallacies*

What do you mean by fallacies?

General behavior of christians, or at least those who claim to be?

Please no stereotypes.

Also it would have helped your thread so much if you had started with some examples.

speaking of fallacies, saying that behavior of christians proves anything about christianity is like saying the behavior of atheists proves that there IS a God.

The problem with Christianity and Islam is that they say only through their religion will you get to heaven.

This is a HUGE problem.

The Bible claims that unless you have faith that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, you are doomed to hellfire.

How could a god possibly be a a just god,
when he punishes someone who was trying to do the right thing when he refused to believe in a god because he has made his best choice and had come to the conclusion that He didn't exist, or had come to the conclusion that god exists, but the god of another religion and not the Christian god?

Alright some people who ARENT flaming me for asking questions. Along with what xray mentioned, the behaviors of some of the people who claim to be christian are a bit off as well.

I always hear, "You're goin to burn in hell because you dont go to church/dress right"/whatever other nonsense. When they're inside the church they are fucking saints, but the second its over, they lie, cheat, steal, gossip and ram their "beleifs" down everyone elses throats. Not very christian is it?

Recently someone told me "A little religion never killed anyone". HA What about the pagans? Millions were slaughtered simply because they didnt have the same belief system. Even those that were christian were burned at the stake in Salem because the other villagers didnt like the way they acted.

The only nice thing I see that the christians did was put all the holidays on the same days as the pagan's to make it easier to convert them.

Im looking into Odinist Asatru in case anyone's wandering. Any good sites on the subject would be appreciated if anyone would be so kind....I'll give you rep. :D

A fallacy is a deceptive and illogical notion.

e.g. If you don't worship God you'll go to hell!
This atheist is a murderer because he doesn't accept Jesus!

Raping of pagans - I don't know about that.

Behavior of Christians depends on how fundamentalist they are, along with how they interpret the Bible, how they were raised and they're genes.

I agree.

Well this is wrong, whoever told you this doesn't know what they're talking about.

Nope not Christian at all. This is called being a hypocrite. But to conclude that all Christians are like this is wrong (i.e stereotype) But you're still right this type of behavior is wrong, then they claiming to be Christian becomes questionable.

LOL never heard that. But I've heard something like:

If you don't accept Jesus Christ as your savior you'll go to hell!

Sometimes logical fallacies are inevitable I think. Appeal to force only points out that because you will receive some kind of punishment for not accepting some sort of idea does not add any truth value to the idea, but it doesn't take any truth value from it either.

Yes. it does. As already has been pointed out, there is a contradiction. God can not be just, fair, merciful, etc., and horribly punish those that are trying to believe what's real but have come to the wrong conclusion.

I wasn't replying to you, so God's justice/mercy or lack thereof wasn't in my mind when I made that post. But that's okay.

I understand what you're saying though.

But isn't God already being unfair? I mean if he was being fair then we'd be getting what we rightly deserve by going to hell when we die.

I realize that, but I don't only reply to posts that are replies to mine.

I realize that, too. Which is why I felt I should remind you that a god that punishes people for being wrong about what he thinks happened 2,000 years ago can't be just.

You think we're all so horrible we deserve to burn in fire? Whatever. I'm not going to try to change your mind.

I realize my point of view is a bit one sided because I only come into contact with VERY fundamentalist and/or hypocritical christians. One thing I REALLY dont like, is what the fucking popes gave permission to do over the centuries, like it was ok to behead anyone who thought Jesus was a poor man. WHAT THE FUCK?! HE WAS A CARPENTER!!!

Then when they thought women were evil and sex was ok if you didnt enjoy it because you were tempeted into it by the devil, but if you did enjoy the act it was punishable by death, seems to me like a cult bent on the end of man-kind to me.

When I encounter people trying to convert me they usually spurt something along the lines of "Dont be angry at me because you are not touched by God". I usually retalliate with:

I'm not touched by god? I may not like the religion but how dare you tell me that?! Your people invaded our land with permission -from god- to kill our people and destroy our culture, simply because we worshipped a fair god and goddess instead of your genocidal figure of faith.

And another thing, they have their one martyr. The pagans have millions of martyrs, millions of people, some of which were in fact christians but were killed anyway under the lable of a witch. How can this be a religion of compassion, fairness and tolerance like it says in their book? Can someone PLEASE explain this to me?

Well, the bible does say the earth is flat. But it can be lost on some people now as most of the phrasing is considered a figure of speech now.

major christianity flaw is gods omnipresence, meaning he must be it for it to exist

meaning god is Lucifer

also, people who arent ignorant (retarded, died in infancy) but led good lives still go to hell, and he watches them suffer and thoroughly enjoys the way that works

Well, the bible does say the earth is flat.

The Bible does not say that the earth is flat. When it says four corners, it means the cardinal directions: north, west, south, east.

Problems with Christianity?

How about...it's a direct ripoff of pagan religions millennia older than it? It's an indirect form of sun-worship?
