you're agnostic... the whole you dont know whether there is or isnt a god/higher power/deity

and atheism isnt a religion... its just a way of thinking that coincidentally is shared by many people... just a common belief there is no god

That would make you sort of a waffling deist.

Does it really bother you that much what "religion" you are under. I don't believe in anything but what classification do I come under? Forget about it, that way you can't be confused.

because thats a religon.
Atheism is no more a religion than not collecting stamps is a hobby. Not believing in the existence of God/gods is no more a religion than mere theism is a religion.

It's one or the other. If you're on the fence, then you haven't come to the conclusion that God/gods exist. If you haven't come to the conclusion that God/gods exist, you are without belief in God/gods. If you are without belief in God/gods, you are an atheist. I'll see you at Thursday night's meeting; attendance is mandatory.

Your understanding of the word 'atheist' as a belief structure is too linear* - they deny the existence of a 'God', however they do not deny that there is the possibility of some higher power.

Whether you choose to label that higher power as a 'God' or otherwise is where you shall find what you are.

EDIT: *I know this because i was silent on the matter for a long time, and it was only through logic that i understood that i did not understand.

they deny the existence of a 'God'

The common definition of deny is to state that something is not true. An atheist need not necessarily do that. An a-unicornist doesn't necessarily deny that unicorns exist; he is just without belief that they do. The difference is not subtle.

Addition:

"God" meaning deities.

that right there shows your agnostic, that you dont know if there is a deity or not.
once you decide on what your beliefs are exactly, come back and we'll label you again.
