Often I see people [on this very forum] copy & paste exhaustive lists or links to those which they know little next to nothing about from some type of Bible skeptic website and then go "LOLOLOLOL ur bible got teh contradictions". (obviously this example is too extreme but you get the idea)

I didn't make this thread to address the so called discrepancies or whatever else, but rather discuss why you guys do that. I know for a fact some of these are easily reconciled.

It's true, most people aren't really looking to listen to what other people say, they're really out to boy/pwn/own those that disagree.

But as for me searching for truth?

(due to the realisation that nothing can be certain and my mind and perception is the result of my actions and feelings)

I don't like to be dismissive, but I'm not taking what you're saying to heart.

The Bible was NOT written by Jesus but his followers, who twisted his words greatly.

Then the romans (the people who crucified Jesus in the first place) institutionalized "Christianity" and repressed any other Christian sects.

Many people argued about the philosophical and political implications of the old and new testament - so they altered it to fit to their ideas.

See, they wanted an empire under ONE religion, so they made it quite totalitarian.

Ever since then, it has been reinterpreted through the ages.

So make an argument instead of quoting the Bible.

As far as my reason for downing teh bible (and religion in general):

The truth is that religion has been stained by man.

As I said before, everything involving religion has been affected, and therefore altered, by the perspective of man.

People are imperfect, thus making organized religion rather unbelievable.

I can't believe what someone says about religion due to the fact that it's from their perspective. Despite their fear tactics used or their wisdom behind it, it's up to me to judge it and believe what I want accordingly.

I am on the ame page as LBTY--we do create our own reality. We are not in the world--the world is in us. And we therefore create our own truth, at least at a personal level.

That said, there is a Higher Reality, which includes the following: we are All One; our essential self, the soul, is eternal, immutable; God is love; our only enemy is fear.

I'd like to point out they made humanities truth, not their own truth.

I can deff agree that i believe what is true is only what we individualy accept as true for ourselves. Think of someone who is mentally unstable or retarded. For one thing, labeling that person unstable or retarded lies within us. The more important aspect of bringing that up though is what do those people see as "true"? I cant personally say but im sure its quite different. When I say true though its much more than just the meaning it has on a true or false test in 6th grade. What you accept as true is everything. What color is your shirt? How do you know its that color? Truth is your own perception and acceptance.
