I believe alot of things, and some of them Christians believe as well, but I am not a Christian. I dont believe in organized religion, dont go to church, don't read the Bible, and I don't really like maybe 90% of Christians I meet. But I've never understood why too large a portion of Atheist have this anger toward Christianity.
I'm not a mormon. I think Mormonism is a stupid religion. I know what they teach and I think the world would be a better place without people wasting there time and lives with a rediculous religion. I don't hate mormons though. I don't say the phrase "bullshit mormonism." I don't care if mormons openly express there views. I'm not going to get pissed off if they invite me to there church services, and I don't care if they warn me that the alcoholic drinks I know and love will send me to hell.
If you don't like Christians just ignore them. They have the right to express there opinions (no matter how stupid) just like everyone else. So why do Atheist get so pissy about the subject?

it's hard to ignore someone who imposes their beliefs on your life too frequently. it's also hard to ignore people who you pity because they devote their entire lives to a cause that might as well be imaginary.
why don't christians ignore people who want to have abortions or gay people who want to get married?

Most of them do. Its the Pat Robertson crowd that gives them all a bad name.
Its not just Christians against abortion. I'm completely against abortion. Not because I believe in a god but because I don't think you should be able to take anyone's life unless its for self defense. The same people who say that abortion is ok and that its not a full baby yet would get pissed off if I knocked a nest out of a tree and crushed all the eggs.
If you get pregnant and you dont want the baby you can always give it up for adoption. You fucked up, it should be your problem, not the babies.

Most atheists dont have a problem with Christians. Yeah a few of us hate Christianity for its hypocracy, but that is pretty much because Christians view us as lesser people, talk shit to us, tell us how to live our lives, automatically presume we are immoral, hedonistic, or evil, yet at the same tiem they are no different than us. Atheists are just as moral and good as anyone else, religion or not. So what, we dont believe your spiritual beliefs, but that doesnt mean we cant agree with your moral or ethical beliefs.
Christians are very oppressive towards others, especially athiests, yeah some of them are good, but like any religion they are indoctrinated to hate outsiders. Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust, the Crusades, all Christians killing and oppressing others. Fucking hypocrits.
"Oh, I don't reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It's just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Ghandi

If Christians and other religious assholes didn't inexplicably give me and the people I love shit all the time for not being blinded by their emotionally-driven nonsense, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about them. Sadly, they insist on trying to legislate "God's Law" and fuck up people's shit because of their inane beliefs.
They demand that we respect their beliefs... I respect their RIGHT to have those beliefs, but so far there is very little in Christianity that I can in good conscience respect.

[QUOTE=grungekid;8703500]The same people who say that abortion is ok and that its not a full baby yet would get pissed off if I knocked a nest out of a tree and crushed all the eggs. [QUOTE]
How is this different from eating your eggs at breakfast though? I know its a very conflicted subject and we could talk about that alone endlessly but the way i see it something is not alive until its born. If its still inside the womb, all it is is a group of cells. And if you created it, even by mistake, shouldnt you be able to decide if you want the child? And adoption, of course you could choose to have the child and than put them up for adoption but there are so many kids already in the world who dont have a home. If you deny a mother the right to abort her baby, why cant we deny other women from gettin pregnant. If a woman had to have her baby shouldnt we provide other laws to garuntee that baby had a home, and the family who wanted to have a baby could adopt that one. Dont get me wrong by saying this, but too many people value life too much, but in the wrong ways. I try to keep myself from thinking bad about christians, but its impossible really. I deff agree that everyone has the right to believe in whatever they want, but thats where it should end. What other religion has countless tv shows on television and than want to sell you sumthin after watchin it? In my opinion all Christianity is just a business, the largest one in the world. If jesus were alive today he would slap most of the people who call themselves christans in the face. I guess i havent really touched on the main subject much but christians try to press their religion on other people. Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, and all other forms of religion keep to themselves much more.

Indeed everyone does have a right to express their opinion. Everyone also has a right to criticise the beliefs of others. I criticise religious beliefs because they are irrational and have negative behavioral consequences. I also criticise these beliefs when they attempt to influence politics. There is asuch a thing as separation of church and state.
When was the last time an atheist came knocking on your door trying to convert you? Probably never. Seems like the atheists respect your privacy a lot more than the religious nuts.

Atheist don't knock on your door but I've heard quite a few of them try to convince people to be atheist.
Btw, I don't feel like debating the whole abortion issue. A fetus is a group of cells just like a baby is. The only difference is the location. Neither can survive on their own. The question is, should it have to take its first breath to be considered born. Way to complicated an issue to discuss and not the point of this thread.

I wasn't going to debate this issue, however, I must point out that a fetus cannot suffer in the same way as a fully developed baby.

I am a firm atheist and harbor a strong loathing for Christianity. This is mainly due to it having dominated the last 12 years of my life. A lot of my old friends were Christian, my schools were both Lutheran and my girlfriend's parents are strongly Christian.
Half my friends went insanely zealous, scorned my behavior (drinking), excommunicated me, converted other friends and basically in my mind went insane. My girlfriend's parents are now ruining her life because they found out we slept together before marriage, and would probably kill her if she confessed that she too is an atheist. I can't come close to explaining it all in one post, but these fanatical lunatics make me want to tear all of their fucking throats out.
As for those who aren't so zealous, I also disdain them. They claim to be Christian simply because they haven't really considered anything else, they don't follow any of the doctrine and many of them simply consider it a free ticket to eternal life. In my mind I am sure of the lack of the Christian God but these backwards, blind people spit at my arguments.
Given the chance I would be overjoyed to make them all cease to exist.

Yo, I'm christian : D. I really prefer to say I believe in the God of the Bible, instead saying I'm a christian, because no one wants to talk to christians. But whatever. I'd love to try and change some of your guy's opinions on how all christians are assholes and tell you what to do, etc. I am very laid back, and I live and let live for the most part. I do tell people about my faith, but I never force anything. I don't really believe that you can convince a stranger by quoting verses and such. I believe in being the very best loving friend that I can to people. I'll tell them exactly what I believe and why and tell them they should think about it, but that's it. I never judge people - I pretty much recognize that all people are fucked up super bad, and that just shows up in different forms. I'm really not an outgoing or social person; I'm a bit of a misanthrope a lot of times. It's not lack of social skills or anything; I'm plenty articulate. I really would rather not talk to most people, but I've developed some strong friendships with some strange people. I do believe that that is God's doing. I really don't want to sit around some nights for a few hours listening to this kid rant about how he hates his life and whatnot, but I do it. I just want to help him out in any way I can.
Sorry about that bit of a ramble, just my little train of thought. I better put in a little bit about why I believe in God. Basically, I think there just has to be something more. Nature, including space, is incredible to me. While some think it's ludicrous to believe in a creator, I think it's pretty closed minded to think it must be chance. If anything changed we couldn't live - distance from the sun, size of the sun, size of the moon, Jupiter catching asteroids, atmosphere, etc. There's also a question of where the universe came from. Also, when I see people, it amazes me. People are so self-destructive. It may sound funny that I believe in God because people are so terrible. I think that they need God. Bottom line, I'm all about being as Christlike as I can be. I want to show grace, mercy and love to everyone that I can. And if I'm totally, 100% wrong about all this God and Jesus stuff, how bad could it be to live a life striving to show grace, mercy and love?

um... that's not a very sound argument. i am pro-choice and i would get pissed off if you destroyed random eggs because they are not yours and there is no reason for you to do that. i wouldn't get pissed if the mother bird destroyed them (even though that is kind of strange to imagine). besides, what happens to a girl who is raped at age 15, 16, or 17? should she be forced to drop out of school to carry the baby to term? why punish her for something she had no control over? it's not always "fucking up" even though that would be pretty convenient for pro lifers like you.

In my area (and most of America, for that matter), Christians and their morality dominate society. It gets old, when a certain group of people have been shoving their beliefs down your throat for the entirety of your life. I don't neccessarily hate them, I just wish they would leave everyone else alone.
Impossible, of course, since their religion is entirely based on spreading the teachings of Christ and the Old Testament belief system. It's a central tenant of their religion, to piss everyone else off by trying to convert them. Obviously, I'm referring to mainstream Christian doctrine here, not any of your "live and let live" versions, which don't exactly fit with what the Bible teaches.

I'm an athiest and I personally believe that abortion should be okay only until the brain is developed, but to those Christians out there who think that we shouldn't do stem cell research because it's preventing the cells from growing into a person, isn't not having sex the same thing? Condems, birth control, just abstinence is preventing life from happening. Think of all the kids that would be alive today jumping rope, playing hopskotch, and persecuting others for their beliefs, if we didn't keep it in our pants. So preventing scientific research that can save lives and immerse us in vast array of medical breakthroughs just because a group of people believe that those cells each have a ghost in them is retarded as hell. I know religious belief is retarded, but I apply a general rule about them as I do to all retards, they stay outta my shit and I won't kick them in the teeth.
So why do Atheist get so pissy about the subject?

I think abortion is fine, but your analogy is more akin to random acts of kicking pregnant women in the stomach. Birds practice a form of abortion themselves; when food supplies are low they tend to only feed the chicks that seem to have a better chance of surviving.
I'm perfectly fine with people telling me I'm going to hell, so long as they fuck off when I don't feel like talking to them. My atheism is a technical byproduct of other philosophical beliefs held and so I don't consider it particularly important or significant.

Really? That's how you see it?
When's the last time an atheist knocked on your door?
Believing a religion to be wrong is not an act of anger.
Disbelief is not vandalism.
Skepticism is not malicious.
Atheists do not kill people, threaten them with violence, threaten them with hell, fly planes into skyscrapers, or anything like that in the name of atheism.
It's astonishing how common this attitude is.
People think that if you don't believe something they believe dearly, and then they tell you why you should believe, and you still don't, and then you go and say why you don't, then that makes you an asshole.
If that's your attitude, then you're an asshole.

I cannot buy alcohol on Sunday where I live. Lots of shit you can't do on Sunday. I hate to watch a movie that is edited for television b/c they cut out any sex and language that the sun worshipers are TOLD to be offended by. There are TONS of crack pot laws on the books thanks to the mystics of this country.
Most importantly I see the BLINDING stupidity as dangerous in this country b/c they elected a man-child who only had to say "I love jesus".
In short, I want a place that is truly secular. I have no use for mystics and their supernatural beliefs. It isn't so much that they buy into the pile of shit that bothers me. It is that one way or another their beliefs are forced off onto me. When this stops I will quit mocking religious dogma that unwillingly affects my life.

Well, that's my case.
I was born not knowing which was right (like everyone else).
My mom is a very liberal Christian (everyone's going to heaven regardless of what they believe, etc...) and my dad is a atheist. When I was very little my parents told me about cosmic background radiation, the big bang theory, and evolution.
However, I've since converted to Christianity because it really makes the most sense. The big bang theory is absurd and it's proponents are more fanatical than your average Christian. Evolution can't account for things like sexual reproduction, symbiosis, and multicellular organisms.
Think about this way: Natural selection allows a genotype that is able to breed more out breed and overcome genotypes which can't breed as much. So why would single cell organisms that can breed more than once a day "evolve" into humans who breed maybe once or twice in a life time?
Furthermore, how to sexual reproduction evolve? Which evolved first, the male of the female? Do you expect us to believe that the first male & first female organisms evolved at the same time and in the same place and were miraculously able to continue their species?
People who believe in evolution are the ones who are missing knowledge, they have no appreciation for how complex the universe is.
Last of all, I have seen God work to improve my life and he has answered my prayers. If you sincerely ask for God's help, he's likely to give it to you. There's no point in just testing him however. (Matthew 4:7)

What a silly statement. Evolution is pretty much rock solid. If you can find a rabbit fossil in the Pre-Cambrian, you will blow evolution out of the water, but so far, no-one has found such a thing. I'm sure we can "appreciate" how complex the universe is, simply by "imagining" it, like your god...but we instead turn to comprehensible, tangible evidence, and not "magic".
for my evidence of the "magic" statement, see: "bible"

A person CANNOT change another person. Someone must first DESIRE to do it for themselves.
So unless a person asks you for your supernatural help......stfu. Doesn't that make sense. How many of us do you think you will save by being a fanatic.

Okay let me be clear...I fully understand what you believe. I am well aware that by calling you and Jesus a couple of cunts and renouncing ALL ties to christianity (in your OPINION) damns me to eternal hellfire.
I am aware that the king of kings and the light of the world Jesus is my only way to salvation and everlasting life in the kingdom of the one true god. I am aware that I am born into sin. Asking forgiveness to Jesus is the only way I can get to heaven.
I understand what you believe and why. I understand it better than you.
THAT BEING SAID.
I CHOOSE not to believe and MY problem with you bible thumping kiddie fuckers is this.....YOU CANNOT CHANGE A PERSON. A PERSON MUST CHANGE THROUGH FREE WILL. STOP IMPOSING YOUR BACKWARDS OUTDATED SUPERNATURAL BELIEFS ON OTHERS. IT CANNOT WORK.
If two men wanna fuck.....it is none of your business
If I want to blow my mother fucking brains out........none of your business.
If I wanna screw a strange girl I just met in the ass while I pretend she is my cousin.....none of your business.
If I want to jerk off daily......none of your business.

TELL ME HOW ANY OF THE ABOVE IS YOUR BUSINESS when I know what you believe. I know the "truth" you spew forth.

(Matthew 4:7)Haha. Most amusing.
And most stupid. There were never only two options (evolution and christianity). Go check out the belief poll if you dont believe me. If youre going to post why you became a christian, be honest about it, plzkthx. (Although, if thats really why you became a christian, perhaps you should reevaluate your life.)

Christianity makes more sense than all the other religions.
1. Reincarnation is obviously false.
2. Judaism no longer seems like a good choice because Christianity fulfills it's prophecies and makes sense as it's successor.
3. Islam is just a cheap rip-off of Christianity.
4. Pretty much all other religions teach some sort of "salvation through works" doctrine, which sounds nice but really makes no sense.

I have been away from this board for a very long time... and after browsing tonight, I must ask if this guy is the latest joke troll? Like that guy I used to fight with in the past who always ended his posts with bible quotes, and ended up being a fake. Is this guy doing the same thing, or is he seriously... well... you know...
1. What makes reincarnation obviously false? If you ask me, waking up in heaven isn't much different than waking up as a cow.
2. Does that make Mormonism the next best step as well? It makes sense as Christianity's successor... any author can write a sequal. (And go figure, they're usually not as good!)
3. Christianity is just a cheap ripp-off of Judaism.
4. If you were a god... an all knowing god, none the less... would it make more sense to reward the guy who lives his whole life helping people and sacrificing himself for the sake of his loved ones... or the guy who beats his wife, kills sixteen people and then confesses two minutes before death?
You're an idiot.

- All the non-salvation-through-works, non-reincarnation religions you havent mentioned, eg taoism, satanism (I refer to the philosophical variants of both in this case)
- Atheism
- Agnosticism
- The possibility that theyre all wrong/not-best

Its not just Christians against abortion. I'm completely against abortion. Not because I believe in a god but because I don't think you should be able to take anyone's life unless its for self defense. The same people who say that abortion is ok and that its not a full baby yet would get pissed off if I knocked a nest out of a tree and crushed all the eggs.
If you get pregnant and you dont want the baby you can always give it up for adoption. You fucked up, it should be your problem, not the babies.
ITS NOT A BABY RAHHHHH
And if you weren't so stupid, you might notice that there isn't some massive atheist movement against eating eggs. Actually, I would say that the vast majority of athiests eat eggs. They don't eat chicken fetuses though. You know why? Because it isnt the same thing.

First of all, atheism is completely irrational. You can't possibly know this is no God, you would need to be omniscient to do that.
Now, many people think, "Well, I know atheists are dumb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piltdown_Man), but it's not hurting anyone right?".
Wrong! Atheist regimes and atheist ideas are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of people!
The atheist Soviet Union and communist movement killed over 100,000,000 people.
The evolutionary theory inspired Hitler to have about 15,000,000 people killed who he believed were "less evolved" than the Germans, and therefore unworthy of life.
Furthermore, evolution has promoted hatred (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ota_Benga) and mass murder (http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/hsabor.htm).
Rational people should no longer accept atheism and the evils it promotes! We would live in a much better world without atheism. All rational people should stand up and do whatever they can to find atheism!

Religion (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/religion) is defined as:
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
Religion doesn't necessary require theism, it just requires belief. Atheists believe that there is no God, and when their beliefs include evolution (which they usually do) they also believe they know the purpose of life (or rather believe they know there is no purpose to life) and they believe they know how life started.

Athiesm is a choice, as is any other from of religion(sometimes). Rolloffle is just spewing random things in an effort to say athiesm is wrong and that there is a god and he hates us now. Most of your arguments have yet to be backed up by facts, and you fail to look at the opposite side and the fact that religion has done just as much harm as athiests have.
Athiests are not all communist, communists are supposed to be athiests. Both the Soviet Union and China have churches/temples and a large portion of the country practices some form of religion. Technically, by marxist standards, there has been no commuist country. They are close, but are not communist by definition. Just because I say I am something, does not make me that thing. Perhaps Rolloffle should read more into the subjects that he attempts to bring up.
When it comes down to it, people use religion(or lack of) as an excuse for things. Logic and common sense would advise against this but many people have evolved without this trait.

I never said that. I said atheists have killed.
Here are the facts:
Theists have killed.
Atheists have killed.
Theists have killed in the name of theism.
Atheists have not killed in the name of atheism.
Christians: Crusades--reclaim holy land, Inquisition--a pure Christian state. Both in the name of theism.
Atheism: Stalin's gulags--to industrialize and punish criminals, Hitler's genocide--Labor for German companies and hatred of the race. Neither of which were designed to spread atheism.
In fact, there were people killed in Stalin's gulags and the Holocaust that were atheists.
Saying a nihilistic ideology kills people is like saying believing in god makes one kill people of different religions.

I cannot believe that Rolloffe's delusions of granduer continue to amaze me.
The word Atheism itself means "without theism". Theism is the belief in the existence of one or more divinities or deities.
Atheism is not a religion. A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience.
Most atheist believe in science. Science is as true as it can be. Science (unlike religion) does not pretend to have all the answers. Science simply does not posses the elements inhereit in religions.
Science has helped a lot more people through medicine, sanitation, and better understanding of the world than I believe miracles ever have. Even the most holiest of the holy rollers would find it difficult to argue that science has truly not been good to humanity. Science, unlike god, requires nothing in return. No worship. No rituals, prayers, sacrifice or remorse. Science, unlike god, doesn't need to convince you that you are a piece of sinful shit in order for science to work for you.
I am, as I said, somehow still amazed that Rolloffe truly believes athiesm is responsible for more death that christianity. THIS IS THE LEVEL OF GULLIBILITY AND SELF-DELUSION THAT TOO MANY OF THE FAITHFUL POSSESS.

FACT
Christian belief in America DOES affect non-believers.
EX: I live in Indiana. It is illegal to buy alcohol on Sunday.
Just a very small example. There are COUNTLESS others.
This is why atheists generally do not like christianity. Atheists would HAPPILY forget about christians and their insanity were it not for the way their belief in the SUPERNATURAL affects us.
If christians could happily accept a few things. THIS LIFE I LIVE.......IS MINE. Most of things you think are your business by divine right............ARE NOT. Remember these two things and atheists may continue to pity your meme complex but will not be so outspoken about it.

If you were a god... an all knowing god, none the less... would it make more sense to reward the guy who lives his whole life helping people and sacrificing himself for the sake of his loved ones... or the guy who beats his wife, kills sixteen people and then confesses two minutes before death?
Sounds nice, but it's actually completely absurd.
The fact is, God doesn't need people to do good works for him and can't possibly owe anything to anyone. Since all humans have sinned, none are good in the eyes of God.
Why should God reward someone with a few sins and punish someone with a lot of sins? All sins are detestable to God, that is why all people deserve to go to hell.

Doesn't matter what God needs and owes. The Bible does claim that good works are needed for salvation. You've been given the evidence once after you made the claim that works are not needed and you ignored it, so I'll post it again. Then you've got some 'splainin to do:
Psalm 62:12
For you render to each one according to his works.
Proverbs 10:16
The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
Jeremiah 17:10
I the Lord ... give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Ezekiel 18:27
When the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness ... and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul.
Matthew 5:20
Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 12:37
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
Matthew 19:17
If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
Matthew 25:41-46
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Luke 10:26-28
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
John 5:29
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Romans 2:6, 13
Who will render to each one according to his deeds. ... For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified.
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the jugment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
2 Corinthians 11:15
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
Philippians 2:12
"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
James 2:14
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
James 2:17
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
James 2:21-25
Was not Abraham our father justified by works? You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rabab the harlot also justified by works? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
1 Peter 1:17
The Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work.
Revelation 2:23
I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Revelation 20:12-13
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life.
Why should God reward someone with a few sins and punish someone with a lot of sins? All sins are detestable to God, that is why all people deserve to go to hell.
Speaking of completely absurd, it's absurd that you think all crimes deserve the same punishment.
What's even more ridiculous is the belief that everyone should pay for their sins...except for the ones who happen to believe a certain event actually happened.
If you believe history happened this way- sins are no problem. If you don't- pay for your sins, bitches. Yeah, that's one rational fairy tale you believe there, Rolloffle.

It's just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Ghandi

dont even say most athiests hate. ive never seen a athiest show animosity towards a christian. other way around ive seen it in the hundreds. ive had to endure hours, days and weeks of attemted conversion. i see a lot of similarities between my belief structucture and a christian's. They listen to telavangilists, i listen to grenada forums. They come to thier conclusions, i come to mine. I will only listen to so much before i defend myself. Christianity to me, i tell christians, is no diffrent then the church of satan. stop trying to convert me to christ and i will not try to convert you to the devil. not that im satanic just try to get a point across, it never works.
Are you really that much of an ignorant idiot?
I'm an atheist, ok? Well then, where the fucking hell did you get the idea I have anger towards Christians? Where the fuck do you get off saying such ridiculous things?
I don't mind Christians. What I hate is when people abuse their religions in the name of their God. The Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials... etc. etc.
WHAT I HATE is when PEOPLE act out their beliefs on other innocents.
WHAT I HATE IS WHEN EVERYONE ASSUMES ALL ATHEIST are against Christians. One of the most respected and looked up people into my life is my friend. She is a devout Christian, very open minded and understanding. She is not clouded in her religion, she finds ways to relate it to science in very logical ways which I am astounded by. She is highly intelligent. She is also amazed by me, for I am her opposite yet we agree on everything..
What I hate is when YOU go around spreading bullshit about me and others with my beliefs.
You are worse than anything you fathom in the closed mind of yours.

Because irrationality and myths being passed off as truth are intolerable. That's why we hate Christians.
Watch a few of Dawkins' documentaries and you'll see why he hates religion. Better yet, read the God Delusion.
All atheists do not hate Christians or Muslims or whatever. Most atheists are far too passive to have an opinion beyond their basic atheism.
That said, there are those of us that think this:
"Because irrationality and myths being passed off as truth are intolerable."
That doesn't mean we hate Christians, that means that we're fed up with stupid, irrational bullshit and we want it to fucking stop.

I take it someone you loved has died?
Also Judaism's prophesies were not fullfillled. Unless you assume that David Ben-Gurion was the messiah.
Islam bears similarity to christianity only in the ideas of heaven hell and one god. But they don't turn it into paganism by splitting it into three. And they don't have this blasphemous idea that any human could be the son of god.
Also how about the golden rule, present in every religion, barring the church of satan; "treat others as you sish to be treated."
Christianity is just a bunch of mindless traditions and fairy stories surrounding some ideas that humanity probably should, but don't usually follow anyway, just like any other religion on the planet.
You should convert to communism, the savior of mankind will be mankind.
So they are aloud to come to my door to try and convert me, say that I hate god (I don't I just don't believe in him) but I am not aloud to express my views and engage in a argument with them?

Not unless you can spell allowed.
Faith can't be argued.
You fucked up, it should be your problem, not the babies.
you shut the fuck up you egocentric asinine elitest. take me for instance, i'm an atheist and i don't even care about religion. whether or not its real or imaginary, even if i go to hell... the world is a shitty place and if i get a chance to meet your pleasantly omnipotent god i'm gonna have a god damn word with him. so take your pro-life pansy position elsewhere 'cause we're not fucking having it. faggot. i bet you're against that fucking stem-cell research too. also i bet you're a cigarette smoker. which is kinda contradictory to the literal innuendo of the term 'pro-life'
ummm i'm high... and you're an asshole..

You're an idiot.
Imagine being a 15 year old girl, get raped, get pregnant from that rape, and now you have a kid that you never wanted in the first place.
I'd say the kind thing to do would be to abort it, imagine if your mom came up to you one day and told you the story of why you're in existance. Some guy raped mommy and here you are! No one wants to feel like an accident.
I think if a kid is deformed, retarded, or otherwise fucked up from birth, the mother should have the right to not let those genes exist within the gene pool. I know that if I had a retarded kid on the way, I'd probably abort it and try again for a healthy kid.
Fuck empathy with a rusty post hole digger.

I'm an athiest and I personally believe that abortion should be okay only until the brain is developed, but to those Christians out there who think that we shouldn't do stem cell research because it's preventing the cells from growing into a person, isn't not having sex the same thing?
1.) The brain does not stop developing significantly until the late teens.
2.) If you meant "point at which the foetus gains awareness" by "until the brain is developed," I'm pretty sure awareness doesn't really start until a few days out of the womb. I'm not 100% on this though, so if there are any cognitive scientists or developmental psychologists in the crowd, please stand up.
3.) Most people I know draw the line at the point at which the foetus can survive outside the womb, which is not only fairly well defined in contrast to brain development, but is reasonable.
Generally the people who have pregnancies that get aborted aren't the people in the suburbs with nice two-story homes and a couple of cars in the garage. They're the people who can't always afford to keep the fridge stocked and don't have their GEDs quite yet. If abortion were outlawed, these people would not stop having kids. Millions and millions of children would be spawned into poverty. Is abortion merely the so-called Murder of millions, or is it sparing the same millions from what we, the relatively affluent people with computers and the time to go on totse and talk about this kind of stuff, consider a miserable life of poverty?

I know for a fact that this is false, but I don't know when it's developed.
