Well im fairly new to the RFA world or i guess in my country RFC :P anyways i am very interested in setting up a station my friend Adam he is i guess what you could call a Try hard DJ he has all the fancy gear well he wants to get the word out of his music so i have always wanted a station problem is A a place to buy FM transmitters in Canada and B a lack of knowledge i have googled around for a while but i can only find some hobby transmitters that are just powerful enough to transmit to a few mosquito's im looking for a few pointers on the basic gear i will need quite obviously Ant. transmitters im not sure i have heard word of in line amplifiers but really i do not know and im also looking for a base cost


he is on the 17th floor overlooking the city so i think we will have a descent range anyways any help or hobbyist pages would be awesome thanks guys

Well, there are 3 basics you will need. A source, a transmitter, and the antenna.

You already have your source.

A good small FM transmitter can be acquired from the internet, but getting it into your nation could be difficult, so then you could look at hand-building your transmitter. Those plans/parts lists can also be found on the web, and not as hard to get that across the line, just call it a science project.

Antennas can be bought or constructed, just the same as the transmitter.

You don't necessarily have to be a pirate that drowns out another stations frequency, just tune your transmitter to an unused frequency.

An in-line amplifier would boost your power between the source and the transmitter, and might cause your signal to be detected by the watchers. You don't want to be picked up.

Then again, I don't know about the policies surrounding pirate radio up in CAN, I'm only fluent in USA policy.
