There is something that made this world but it sure as hell is not the bullshit god that some fuckers wrote. The bible was wrote to make people feel safe, just think what would people do if they just died and had no fucking explanation for this, it would make this world more fucked up then it already is, and some more bullshit i hate is when people actually put down other religions and literally say that if you not in there religion then your going to hell fuck that, its ridiculous. Also, some more bullshit that pisses me off is when people talked about GODS POWERFUL WRATH, intimidation......thats all those fuckers are trying to tell us. I'm not trying to offend anyone, i'm just stating my opinion. i'm not an atheists so don't accuse me of that :P

What do you believe(more then just the name of your religion)

Why don't you start off by telling us what you believe? So far we know you're not an atheist.

I believe that the Bible is true.

That God created the Earth and everything in it in six litteral days.

That man is born with sin, and sins everyday -- or at least very often -- and that humans need salvation which can only be attained through Jesus Christ.

And that's where your credibility is lost.

What do you believe? That humans came from apes over the course of millions of years?

Why is it that we always come from apes and monkeys? We can essentially say we evolved from any animal, the only place where apes and monkeys come in is when we try to find another living organism that is most like ourselves, and thats what you end up with. Anywho, i believe that there is a god, but nothing like any religion would tell you. God is the underlying power of everything, not a spirit, not a figure, not a deity... but everything in of itself. It can be explained in many different ways, percieved in many different ways, and celebrated in many different ways but what it is, is universal.

Well, the mainstream evolutionists say we came from monkeys, but even you know that's not true. :)

Wrong. Mainstream evolutionary scientists suggests that homo sapien sapien shares a common ancestor with apes, but somewhere along the chain our ancestors seperated into different species. That's why there's both humans and apes.

Well, the "common ancestor" was essentially another monkey.

Why do you guys have this argument? You guys are morons, for real. OP: why would you post a thread filled with simple commentary about how you believe Christianity is bullshit? Where does that get anyone? You can't figure out the universe with simple logic, you know?

And to the Christian: No offense dude, but it's just as believable to think we came from apes rather than God creating all the pretty animals and humans and earth in 6 literal days.

Get a real argument going, fags.

No, it wasn't. Pick up a book.

We already have a real argument going on in another thread - I'm not about to try to get it going here too. That was the point of this thread: to call rollofle out for leaving the other thread where I had legitimate criticisms of christianity.

Stop being a dumbass and learn to read before you insult people.

I am so sick of hearing ignorant fundies drag this out, I could just vomit.

NO ONE ever seriously said we were "descended" from the other primates, only that we share a commen ancestor.

And it is a proven fact that we domesticated primates have DNA which is 99% identical to chimps.

First of all, that's inconclusive. There's no reason why God wouldn't have done the same thing twice, in fact it makes more sense that he would.

Futhermore, the DNA is actually more like 95% similar. :p (source (http://www.answersingenesis.org/tj/v17/i1/DNA.asp))

Well, first of all I really wish you'd give some more reputable source rather than "Answers in Genesis," since they actually use the bible in the middle of their article as a reference.

Anyway, this really doesn't matter. I don't see how the negligible few percent really helps your argument; it still shows that we are extremely similar to chimpanzees, and have evolved into having slightly different DNA.
