I got a bit sick of thread after thead about how atheists suck. So I did an official thread for it and merged everything into it. Fairness dictated there be one for Xtianity too.

It is clear from the forum description that the rule is ZERO intolerance. Not even as a collective, within one thread ("The official atheists suck thread", etc).

Intolerance is intolerance, no matter who it is directed at. I would proffer that any and all threads attacking atheists should receive the same treatment as threads attacking Christians: closure. If the same people are opening these threads, and warnings have been issued, ban them temporarily. Hopefully, they will get the message.

It would be nice if this forum wasn't so filled with animosity and childish banter. Theological debate is fascinating, but it is marred when this kind of crap is allowed.

Atheist proselytizing uses more scientifically sound evidence.

Because of these facts, I tend to have a more intense disregard for the Christian variety. But when an atheist persistently pushes his opinions on others, he can also be irritating.

The Atheist opinion really isn't any more scientifically sound. The Atheist argument is that because there is no proof, there is no God. That's not science. That's skepticism. I agree that that's the more reasonable viewpoint but it's by no means scientifically validated.

The scientific (not Christian LOL) thing to do would be to say, "there is no proof of the existence a divine being but there is also no proof against it. Therefore, we can not be sure of the non-existence of a God but because there's no proof for it, there probably is none." It is not scientific to say that something is necessarily false because there is no proof of it.

You probably consider the people who challenged Galileo asinine for sticking to the Aristotelean principles and doubting that things fall at the same speed regardless of mass. They were following your principle. There's no evidence that two things of different masses fall at the same speed so it obviously is not true. Once Newton provided evidence, it was clear that wasn't the case. Someone tomorrow could make some sort of geometric proof which proves that there has to be a God. That's not going to happen but you should be able to see why it's not scientific to say something is certainly not true just because of a lack of evidence.
