Such as, what did your parents bring you up as, did you stay that way, etc., etc.

I was brought up in a standard, modern day Christian-esqe environment, yet my parents didn't really care/enforce any religious beliefs. I was forced to go to a Catholic elementary school, though, which I now realize was a tad ridiculous. Almost every subject, there was religion brought into the play half the time.

I was raised in a lenient Catholic setting. The family used to go to church regularly, but gradually reduced its church attendence. I was put into Sunday school until age 14, the year of my confirmation. After I was confirmed, my mom no longer needed to put any children into the weekly classes, so she lost a practical reason to go to church. I hadn't thought about it, but there is almost never any mention of God in my family. This kind of upbringing allowed me to eventually make my own conclusions about religion. Lately my mom has been saying that she is going to start going to church again. By lately, I mean the past six months. I haven't been to church since Easter. All things considered, I got pretty damn lucky.

My mother was raised Baptist, converted to being a Presbyterian like my dad when they got married, but was a closet pantheist/animist.

My own brand of spirituality defies easy labels--I guess you could say Zen neo-gnostic Christian Taoist pagan sort of sums it up.

Parents are Lutheran and Catholic

I was raised Catholic until my conformation at about 14. I guess i was 'forced' to go to sunday school as a child because my parents wanted me to learn about their religion and all.

Im 21 now and they respect my own beliefs on everything. I believe there is a creator god. I am also spiritual in the sense that I think Christ was a great man and i try and follow his teachings in morality as well as teachings from Taoism and other things ive picked up along the way or decided on my own.

I dont think you can still call me a Christian though, I think that the NEW testament and christs teachings are useful, and part of me wants to believe in the whole son of god (probably from being ingrained from my youth) but i pretty much dont.

Im not a big fan of organized religion. I know a lot of great Christians who love everyone and want only to be good people and help, but at the same time i know a lot who claim to be great but go against so much that Christ taught.

like Ghandi said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.."

Edit: Ams posted while i was typing mine, but i think I sort of fall near his self defined label of his beliefs, depending on his definition of pagan.

As a child, it was a mix of: baptism from my mother, nothing from my father, catholicism/santeria from my grandparents, aunts and uncles. I do believe in the judeo christian Jehova, but have my thoughts and beliefs on him and his kingdom. Now I cant directly tell, you CAN call me a christian but I seem to have a lot of interest in hindu religion, as I am reading the Bhagavad Gita.

Parents-my mom was raised Catholic, but isn't practicing.

Raised-I was raised loosely on Catholic/Christian morality. By loosely, I mean like a $2 hooker loose.

Currently- trying to find the appropriate sect of Buddhism which incorperates my observations on morality/humanity/and spirituality, which is truly leaning towards Zen Buddhism.

*But then, calling yourself a buddhist is very unbuddhist*

EDIT: ^I loved the Bhagavad Gita.

my parents are both sort of lutheran... although i dont think my dad was ever baptised or anything, and he's an atheist anyways. My mum is Lutheran but she never actually goes to church, and she really likes the whole eastern spirituality with chakras and whatnot.

Me, well i'm a buddhist i guess... but only in philosophy, i'm sort of atheist/agnostic/buddhist... and i am part of no sect of buddhism... i guess i'm a tad picky but i only believe what i wish because everything needs to be taken in with an open mind.
I also dont at all believe i am right in religious thoughts in anyway at all, i just do things the way i want to which happens to be most buddhist philosophy so thats why i call myself a buddhist...
god i'm indecisive about everything

Religion is an institution created by man, therefore it is corruptable.

I was raised in a spiritual, christian environment, and have been led to my firm belief, that the spirit of Jesus Christ moves across this Earth in all places, and at all times.

Religion = Man's creation
Spirit = God's creation

Edit: History proves the existence of Jesus Christ. The works he performed are the topic of present skepticism.

My mom was Russian Orthodox, which is pretty much ultraconservative Catholicism without a pope. My dad was spiritual but not really religious and he knew religion was made up by people for control, but he went along with my mother because he's a pushover and it was part of the culture (he was Russian as well). My parents didn't raise me, I raised myself, it was a good day if I talked to my parents for 20 minutes straight when I was growing up. Now I'm atheist-agnostic-pantheist. But mostly atheist.

"Pagan" as in short for "polytheist." That is, I recognize the Great Spirit (aka God, the unified field, the force, whatever) but also a number of other spirits or demi-gods, especially Tlaloc (the Aztec rain god), the quartz deva, and the dumpster deva, and my power animals (aka guardian angels)..

I was raised Catholic, encouraged by my mother (now a Buddhist X Christian hybrid) and allowed so by my father (agnostic).

I became an atheist in the transition from 5th to 6th grade. I am currently appropriately labeled as an agnostic.

I was brought up Roman Catholic, but I never paid any attention to what the Father said. But I am skeptical of god, and whether he exists or cares.

Is smoking the reefer against Roman Catholicism?

I was raised Christian but my family wasn't overtly religious. My mother would occasionally try to get me involved with those Youth Groups and what not, but there was never any real pressure to believe one thing or another (she did throw away my satanic bible though, being ignorant of what it actually is). Attended Presbyterian and Baptist churches. Also whatever Tabernacles are. I never really got into it. I saw prayer as dumb and selfish. I didn't think the concepts of God made much sense. Didn't understand why the Bible was seen as so important (a lot of Christians see the bible as the end-all, be-all.. going as far to use it as proof of their beliefs). Overall the religion seemed cold, clinical, and alien to me.

I don't know what to really call myself now. I don't practice any religion but I like to study European paganism along with Hinduism and Buddhism. What I would like to do is create my own (at least personal) beliefs by restoring Ancient values. Just sort of getting to the essence of it all, without all the quirky dogma and doctrine. The myths can still be useful, though, as examples. I really just want to explore myself along with the world and existence to uncover what things really matter to me on a holistic level.

Raised Jehovah's Witness, now Agnostic but I really like Buddhism/Taoism/those sorts of things. It's been a while since I studied the eastern religions so I forgot the differences between all of them.

J-Ho's can go to the 'Kingdom Hall' (our version of Church) up to three times a week I think, with sessions lasting over an hour. My family only went once a week when I was young. When my brother died at age 9 we stopped going except to our version of Easter mass. My mum is perpetually unwell (she actually is, I'm not being sarcastic) so after that we stopped going. At age 11 I started to seriously doubt my religon. I used to ask questions that my religion couldn't answer and thought, "oh well' but around that time I really doubted it. By age 13 I was Agnostic. Parents still don't know.

My parents didn't raise me as anything. My mom has always been more of a non practicing Pagan, and my dad is a non practicing Catholic.

Dad wanted to raise us Catholic, but my Mom told him he'd be the ones bringing us to church. He changed his mind.

Right now, I don't really have a specific faith. A lot of my beliefs are Buddhist in origin, but I can't consider myself a Buddhist. I would call myself an Eclectic Pagan.

Raised as a Christian by my parents, baptized a few months before my father's death (most likely his wish).

Currently Agnostic-Theist. (Just the possibility of Gods. No particular religion)

My sister was raised the same as me, but she's now an Agnostic-Atheist. My mum doesn't really have a problem with it, though if my father were alive, I dunno what he'd think about it.

Same here, my parents are both Athiest, I think I have been most of my life. However, recently I dont know. I think I can call myself a Christian. I never went to church as a child, nor was I really given the opportunity to like it. I've been going to church with my girlfriend and her parents, giving it a shot and I actually like it :D. I used to be so narrow minded, because I didn't give it a shot. But, hell.. I like it :D

I was raised to make my own decisions, to question, to accept, to evaluate, and allll that.

Father's an atheist, mother's agnostic/Buddhist I guess... neither follow any "set religion" anyway.

I went to a school with a Methodist ethos, and I am agnostic.

Parents: My mother was an atheist for the majority of my childhood, then she was really into witchcraft and Pagan type things for about 4 years after she split up with my father. She's now a Mahayana Buddhist nun. Go figure.

My father on the other hand is, was and always will be an atheist.

Raised: I was brought up mostly to be Christian (I have no idea how that happened) but when my mother became a Buddhist, she suggested these things to me and I liked them. But mostly I was raised by my father to think about everything and question it. To make my own decisions.

Currently: I'm not settled on a single religion. I've looked into quite a lot of things and none of them have suited me. I will not rely on faith alone, so no Christianity. Any religion that offers me the chance to be empirical about my beliefs is the one for me. Currently Buddhism is the closest, but I don't like every aspect of that. So I suppose you could say I'm agnostic: I'm open minded and empirical.

My mom is a non-practicing Jew, and my dad is a non-practicing catholic, so I was raised without any religious instruction. However, I discovered Taoism when I was about 11, and have considered myself a Taoist ever since.

the same half-assed version of christianity most all other people are raised under today. i went to church maybe 4-6 times before i was in highschool (around christmas, and sometimes easter), then went a few times when i was older just to decide for myself.

i honestly did feel better every time i left, even though i didn't believe it, but i couldn't tell if it was something else, or that i was just glad to finally get out of there, and not having to stand up mumbling songs.

now finding out about other things, im against it because it's bad for people. i used to think whatever religion made you feel good you should be into it, but now, i realize christianity among other religion is just a tool for jews to manipulate people.

but there may be something to me feeling better after i left.
