Me and my wife moved a little over a year ago. We live in a far flung suburb without a lot of choices in churches. She don't want to drive far for church. We have not been able to find a good fit for both of us. I have bible school training and worked in the leadership of a small inner city pentecostal church quite a few years back. Since that time doors have not seemed to open for me in any churches that the wife will attend. The desire to serve God in ministry and the anointing to have remained over the years. We don't have a big house but it's not small either. Our living and dining rooms are connected and can hold probably at least 15 - 20 without being cramped. We are talking of starting up in the next 3 - 4 weeks. Just wondering if anyone else here has done this or currently is and can share experiences.

I'm surprised your post hasn't literally been shoved up your ass, and that surprises me seeing what usually happens to those who post about christanity...
In any event, I'm not here to talk with you about your choice of religion. I think the main this would be to make sure you can trust those that you are inviting into your house for church, you never know. Also, I'm not sure if there is any legal matters with doing this but i would deff check into it just to be sure. I'm not aware of people holding church inside there homes and having 10-20 people over besides. It just seems like there would be something more to it so I would deff check.
If you are serious about starting a church, you might want to consider finding a bigger place to possible rent or buy. I heard that if you have a church of more than 12 people it becomes tax free, I could be wrong there though.

Depending on where you live, you should probably check with your city offices to inquire about zoning issues. You should also check with your local fire marshall to determine and meet saftey and capacity requirements for such a structure and use. You should also check with your homeowner's insurance to determine coverage in the event of an accident.
