How do your beliefs increase the quality of your life?
Do you experience any benefit during this life (which means: any afterlife descriptions do not apply) that you would not be enjoying if not for your beliefs?

I believe that committing too strongly to any one belief severely limits my worldview. Monotheists find evidence of God everywhere. Atheists find evidence there are no gods anywhere. I see evidence they're all a bunch of deluded dupes everytime I talk to one.
The benefits of this belief, in this life, are that I'm free to believe in whatever I want, whenever I want, and I've explored everything from Buddhist temples to Native American peyote ceremonies. Additionally, I tend to associate with open-minded, flexible people who accept me for who I am rather than trying to convert me into someone I am not.
I also have a daily meditation practice, although this has arisen more out of habit than belief. The benefits of this are that I seem to have better focus and less stress than most of the people around me.
