Okay, OP, imagine for a moment you're discussing this 'Atheistic Satanism' with a human. What would you tell it about Atheistic Atheism?

this.

also, oxymoron? atheistic satanism?

Satanism can refer to a number of belief systems depending on the user and contexts. Common, but not precise, use of the word generally refers to "the worship of Satan or the powers of evil.

Atheism, as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods or rejects theism.

Satan doesn't take the position of a God in Satanism, it's not about worshipping anyone, but affirming and fulfilling the desires of the individual. Allegorically Satan is seen as the one that freed man kind, by tempting us in Eden, Satan is seen as one brave enough to stand up to God and call hima cocksucker. In other words Satan is seen as a kind of liberator. The magic part of satanism is often nothing more than psycho-drama to affect the psyche of the individual.

This isn't a definitive answer (God knows I don't know, or care, enough about Satanism to really think about it.), but it's really just to show how Atheistic satanism is plausible.

Seems to me to be little more than a mystic materialism.

Atheism is the rejection of super-natural beliefs. You try and claim that satanism is not anything super-natural, but then go on to telling some myth about god and satan and the garden of eden.

You can argue that any religion is about full-filling ones desires.

Yes, Atheistic Satanism is an oxymoron. Besides, it sounds like a name given to atheists by christians.

Satan is, of course, a myth, but a key figure in Christian symbolism.

One could no more be an "Atheistic Satanist" than one could be an Atheistic Christian. It is , like, totally an oxymoron, dude.

No, it's not. Atheism is being without belief in the existence of deities. Many Buddhists are atheist yet believe in things most would consider supernatural such as karma and reincarnation. An atheist can believe his rabbit's foot is lucky and still be an atheist.

It is quite possible to worship an abstraction or idea without believing that it physically exists. This is pretty much the basis of so-called "atheistic Satanism".

Yes, it is considered a myth by atheistic Satanists. Satan is not a god, he is merely used by Satanists in the same way Jesus used parable. I mean the sower wasn't a real person, he was merely used by Jesus to illustrate a point.

I could argue that any religion is about fulfilling personal desires, but satanism particularly relates to the satisfaction of personal desires. It's like a kind of hedonism, the focus is on the self rather than the community.

Atheistic Theistic-Satanism would be an oxymoron, luckily they called it atheistic satanism to get across the point that there is no deity being worshipped or believed in. If there is no belief in a God, then it is atheistic, is it not?

side note: Firefox does not offer to capitalize jesus, only offer other words. It will offer to capitalize satan however. Spell checker lulz.
