OK, i'm having real trouble broadcasting football games through the board at the station, they come through landline feeds and sometimes the signal is really weak. i get callers complaining about how they can barely hear the damned game.

is there any kind of telephone signal preamp or something i could get?

we use 2 Comrex TCB-1 telephone coupler lines, which feed to 1/4" plug and wire to the board. should i get an amp for the phone line or for the wires?

also, we use an arrakis 1200 series 10-channel console like this one:

edit: i DID find an amplified phone coupler but the damned thing is $300!!! our station wouldnt go for that, i'm hoping for a cheaper solution.

Try playing with some settings first. Where do you keep the pot on the board for the Comrex? Whats the level set to for out from comrex, into board.?

the comrex thing doesnt have any pots/level outputs, just a switch to hold the line so you can unplug the phone's handset, the phone jack, and the 1/4" plug that goes to the board.

i've got the board's phone pot set up all the way most of the time for phone stuff, like if i have a call in or in this case a game. but games dont always come through very strong, they barely move the meters on the board.

edit: this is what the coupler looks like

Wow, my Comrex is wired straight to board, has it's own pot and everything.

yeah ours is too, but even with the pot all the way up it still doesnt pump up the signal enough and shit.
