After a little bit of research, I've come to appreciate the theory of the Omega Point. It seems so realistic, yet I am a devout Christian. Is there any counterpoint to be presented against that?

What got me into the idea of an omega point is this series of books.

Best sci-fi series I've ever read.

I don't understand how, as a Christian, you have qualms about a the Law of Consciousness theory. Seems to me this theory alleges a higher form of life/consciousness (God) draws lower forms of consciousness (humanity) to himself which spurs enlightenment, awareness, and other forms of progress. Please explain how you find this unsettling as a Christian.

There is neither higher nor lower.

Well, the Omega Point theory does come from a Christian.
Here's a criticism of it -> http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/graham_oppy/tipler.html

Btw, yeah, the Hyperion books by Dan Simmons are awesome!
