One of my friends sent me a link to his page - www.hiddenmeanings.com. I can't figure out if he's a nut or a genius. He believes the Bible is fiction and metaphor, but he also seems to think Revelations is prophecy. He has some good points with good information to back them up with.

Does anybody know anything about this guy? I've googled him and only found a few little random things, nothing that really tells me anything about him.

If nothing else, he provides some good entertainment.

From BD's site:

YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

For Your Donation To This Work

Your help is gratefully appreciated and is tax deductible.

How did he get tax exemption, I wonder?! I thought that in order to get tax exempt from donations, you had to be a non-profit educational, scientific or religious organization.

Wonder which one he claims?

Hmm...thanks AngryFemme for pointing that out to me. I hadn't really noticed it. He does seem kinda nutty but he has a few good points. He likes to point out the similarities between the Bible and Greek mythology. I've always wondered why more people don't talk about that.

Interestingly enough, the very last sentence on the home page instructs the reader (in the spirit of tithing) to:

Keep your money in your pocket.

Clearly, he was referencing the church, but since church tithes are used to fund the operational and administrative fees that it costs to run a church, it is essentially the same thing as donating to his website.

Although I'm sure he'd point out that donating was voluntary, not mandatory, and unlike the church - no guilt attached if you choose not to.

Maybe he's pretty smart then. He could be the new breed of televangelists. He's just coming at it from a different angle.

Maybe he's pretty smart then.

Clever, at the very least! He chose a picture of a rhesus monkey coddling a white pigeon as the eye-grabber on the homepage. I have to admit, I was kind of digging that particular image.

The multi-colored font was a bit hard on the eyes, though.

I've been reading this off-and-on all night. :D

It has a little entertainment value, if nothing else. At least he makes you think.
