I was browsing through some of Chuck Norris' blogs, who knew he was a right wing lunatic? And this is what I found under the "If I am Elected President" Blog
Tattoo an American flag with the words, "In God we trust," on the forehead of every atheist.
This shit would never fly with any other belief in regards to the presence and identity of an invisible friend, after all it does say god, not Allah.

It's fucking Chuck Norris, who gives a shit?
So I finally decide to start posting again in this forum and the first thread I see that's not already over 12 million pages that seems good is about Chuck Norris...

I cited it essentially as an example of something broader that is happening in America.

Well in that case, let's not forget to cite Ted Nugent as well:
“Big bangs don't make this, ... That's not a big bang. God made that. That's a liver. That's mystical. You and I can't make livers. Things banging don't make livers. This is mystical stuff. This is magic. This is perfection.”

Yes, to many people it sadly seems being an atheist means people have free reign over completely disregarding you as a normal human being. If you've ever seen the CNN roundtable "debates" (phh) about atheism in America, it was disgusting. The first one didn't even have an atheist on the program and even when they did the people were so ignorant. This lady literally said something to the effect of "how can an atheist have morals? Atheists don't believe in ANYTHING." I mean, wow. Her ignorant speech made me doubt if this lady had ever taken a class on moral theory or epistemology, so I just disregarded her in light of the fact she probably had no idea about moral theories or what it means to believe something.

I pointed out Chuck Norris' statement primarily because he advocated the torture, and ostracizing of atheists. Yet, he doesn't get the attention a famous bigot would get. Just look at Imus. Chuck Norris isn't groveling right now and kissing Richard Dawkins' ass, much like Micheal Richards, Imus, Dog The Bounty Hunter kissing Sharpton's (The Emperor of Black People) ass.

I'm an atheist and I'm all for this sort of treatment.
Eventually, hopefully, atheists will be rounded into ghettos. We'll be economically exploited, get pissed, and demand rights. But then we'll realize that we don't want to live in the same society as idiot theists, and the Atheist Nationalist will be born.
Then, imagine: a whole country, guided by nothing but LOGIC and SCIENCE!

We'd find even stupider shit to blow each other up over. :(
You can't get much dumber than "My invisible buddy told me to kill you."
That said, all that shit about atheist ghettos... not gonna happen. We'll all sooner be killed by a fundie president who completely loses his shit in office and hits the Big Red Button than that.
We can expect at least another few centuries of this religious bullshit before it's finally marginalized to the point where it's not an issue anymore. In order for that to happen, we have to speak out against it now.

Here's a link to the "If I were President" article by Chuck Norris containing the atheist tattoo line:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/staticarticles/article56107.html
Although he has been spouting off against atheists lately, I wouldn't take him too seriously, here are some other selections of what he would do as president:
Increase jobs in America by sending ninja teams to sabotage and steal them back from other countries.
Expose the real WMDs – my fists and feet.

Indeed. They should also go on a speaking tour together, touting the benefits of a Chuck Norris presidency and showing off their magic livers.

Just look at what John Travolta and Tom Cruise has done for Scientology.
Unfortunately, a lot of Americans seem to think that if a celebrity embraces something, it must be true. Successful people, living high on the hog, rolling in the dough and living out the American dream... let's follow their regime, perhaps we too can become rich and famous someday!

Just try being "spiritual" but not religious.
My personal views are something akin to "I believe in god(s) but can't find them in a book".
And sometimes I wish I could just say I'm atheist.
It's not just athiests; if you're not a Monotheist, expect a rough time from people.
I don't see in any reason why there has to be a god or gods. To me it just feels like people wishing for them to exist so that they can feel that their little lives aren't so pointless. But they are. We are each one person out of 6+ billion, and one planet out of countless billions. People want a god to make them feel special. It's pathetic.

It's human.
Just because it's a common failing doesn;t make it an essential trait of our species. It's merely one option when faced with the choice between comforting delusion and brutal reality. I can imagine a world where at least a majority of people proudly face the truth.

Atheists lag behind blacks and gays in terms of political appeal at the ballot box. "The idea of voting for a homosexual for president remains unacceptable to 37% of the population," reported the Gallup survey, "placing it second to atheists on the unacceptable list, out of the eight groups tested.

Nah, even atheists want to have some sort of justification for their own worth. My point was that it's natural to want to feel the way religion makes one feel (arguments about ignorance aside).

But it would be a stretch of the imagination to assume that the ballot-stuffers hated gays and blacks. I don't hate women, but I'd like to NOT see Hillary Clinton win the Presidency.

Weird, I think a gay, athiest, libertarian man or woman would be great as our president. The closest I can think of is Ron Paul, and he only fits 2/4 of the criteria (libertarian man).

But would you be unwilling to support any female?
Other surveys have shown that atheists are the most distrusted minority group.

But would you be unwilling to support any female?
It would depend on the female. I don't hate females as a group, therefore I'd be willing to reserve my judgment on other women who may run for office in the future.
Other surveys have shown that atheists are the most distrusted minority group.
Distrust vs. outright hate, though? My first comment was mostly tongue-in-cheek (what's there to hate?). My second comment was to illustrate that I might not trust Hillary's competencies in the oval office, but I certainly don't hate her.
While I realize the atheists may be actually hated by a group of fire-breathing fundamental evangelicals (perhaps the same group that hates homosexuals), I don't think atheists or humanists have made enough of a public impact as a group to warrant being hated by the overall voting majority.
Feared or distrusted - sure. Maybe I just can't grasp America's willingness to feel actual hate towards a group of it's own people. I'd like to think that even the most God-fearing people would swing more towards the adage of "Love thy neighbor" before declaring actual hate or contempt versus distrust.

How do you get 2/4 from that?

I counted "man or woman" as 1 thing, not separately. That way everyone get at least 1/4.

"Man's unfailing capacity to believe what he prefers to be true rather than what the evidence shows to be likely and possible has always astounded me. We long for a caring Universe which will save us from our childish mistakes, and in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary we will pin all our hopes on the slimmest of doubts. God has not been proven not to exist, therefore he must exist."
Now we atheists do have a lot going against us but try and think of the even less respected religions (wicca, satanism, other) i drew an inverted pentagram on my binder at school (it was next to MayheM (metal Band)written in their font) and i was sent to the counselor for religous insensitivity because me expressing my religon was oppressing their right to religous expression
