how does one go about making a tracking device for preferably a car that can be used in real time , not llogged on a website somewhere? Maybe something i can make with out spending too much?

For the most part...tracking is accomplished by GPS, and real-time isn't publicly available, it's all by website or Google Earth overlay.

im not looking for something elaborate maybe something that just beeps when it comes in a two or 3 mile range of my location
