It's from Greenpeace and it is about whaling dated 27 November 2007. It has a general introduction then states:
In just a few short weeks whales are about to be slaughtered again for so called 'scientific research'. In reality these whales will end up stock-piled in freezers because there is no commercial market for whale meat, despite the Japanese Governments best efforts to create one.
What's more, 50 threatened humpbacks and 50 endangered fin wahles are going to be slaughtered for the first time in more than 40 years.
Japanese whalers are on their way to the Southern Ocean right now. Greenpeace is also on the way so we can disrupt, document and delay the hunt
It then asks for a donation and states Greenpeace fights for sustainable environmental practices, and that they don't accept any corporate donations.
The also mention that year after year the Japanese Government tries to have the anti-whaling laws overturned.
Okay so what are your thoughts on this? There are a few things I'll say to try to get some conversation flowing.
What is the difference between a 'threatened' and an 'endangered' species?
Why wouldn't they accept donations from a corporation? I assume because they don't want to get tangled up with people saying they overlook occurences because of a bride they recieved or something.
